Even in the United States, Canada and Europe there is anti-Christian persecution. Sometimes it takes the form of laws designed to harm us because of Jesus Christ. Oh, those responsible for persecution cannot be so blunt, so they dress it up as 'human rights' or some other honorable sounding facade, but it is all the same... hostility against the Person of Jesus Christ.

A few years back a state prosecuted a landlord for refusing to rent to homosexuals since their lifestyle violated his beliefs. The state fined him 1,000 dollars.

He went around the state collecting donations of ONE DOLLAR each from individuals in many local churches. He produced a groundswell of Christian activism that later resulted in the formation of the Alliance Defense Fund with Alan Sears and the Northstar Legal Foundation with Jordan Lawrence. These groups argued successfully to the state Supreme Court that the state constitution gave the landlord the right to discriminate in the Name of Jesus because of the landlord's faith, and won!

The state constitution allows special rights to faith not otherwise granted political or other beliefs. The landlord got a full refund for his $1,000 and the rest is history. The persecutors intended this for evil, but God turned it for good!

You can fight religious persecution and win. When you defend your religious rights in the Name of Jesus Christ, you frustrate the devil and proclaim righteousness. Here are the links to law firms which work for free as their ministry in Christ.

You are mistaken. The KKK is not a Christian organization.

UR still mistaken! The KKK is not Christian. It is theologically liberal - it is not a Bible-believing fundamental or evangelican group. It bases its theology upon the words of man. Many liberals have never had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

Yes, let's thank God for the state and federal government and their defense of Christians too... including the God-given right to discrimnate against practicing homosexuals. I praise God for this court victory. All people's human rights must be respected. :preach:

this landlord should have been put in jail. this is NOT NAZI GERMANY.
Smitty's misguided rage at the Christian landlord for his religious beliefs should serve as a warning to us Bible-believing Christians. This is eloquent proof why we need to re-elect the President, so he can nominate Godly judges to the US Supreme Court. Thank God for giving us a good and Godly President. The Word of God says, "Where the righteous rule, the people rejoice."

"God given right to discriminate."

Your joking, right?
God gives us the right to discriminate against sin. We are to be salt and light in the world, and one of the most loving things we as Bible-believing, born-again Christians can do to help the homosexual is to refuse to be a helper in his lifestyle. Our opposition is a constant reminder of what the Word of God says about it. Our opposition is a constant warning to believers in Christ to choose God's lifestyle and to reject that of sin. There is no compromise with sin in God's will. That is why we gladly embrace the right and the Christian duty to discriminate against using our resources for that which is sinful and offends our deepest most sacred beliefs... like morality and marriage!

I urge my fellow believers in Christ in the Name of Jesus Christ to discriminate against any violation of God's Word. That does not mean we persecute or harm others. It means we do not allow our resources and property and our good name to be used for anything that violates the clear teaching of God's Word.

I am not discussing the issue of homosexuality per se, as that discussion is reserved for only a few other forums. I am in this thread discussing only the legalities of the state court decisions that allow persons of faith to discriminate.

Their own website. Try to look for all of the references to Christianity in there.
The Word of God says that to be saved, you have to be born-again. The group you mentioned has no statement of faith, no requirement to be born-again, no commitment to the infallible authority of the Word of God. They are religious liberals with a veneer of racism. And as you know many liberals have never had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

This sounds like exactly what you're looking for, Sharp. A return to the old ways, the better ways, the Godly ways. Perhaps you should reserve your membership in this wonderful idealistic organization today! [/sarcasm]
The Word of God teaches that in Christ there is no difference. We are all equal in Him. I praise God for that equality, because He allows all who will repent and believe to join His spiritual community. But you know what? If a person is not born-again, he cannot see (meaning experience or know first hand) the kingdom of God! True, the wonderful experience of the new birth in Christ is essential. The landlord in the legal case I presented is born-again and will see the Kingdom of God with our wonderful Lord. Don't you wish everyone could? :prayer:

Your, you, you, your, your, your, you. Not him, her, them, homos, blacks, <insert non-biblical minority here>...
There's also great support in this verse:
Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there.
No reference to any minorities here either.

Personally I would have no problem engaging in business or even socially with homosexuals generally. However in tha case of letting a property one shoud be concerned whether it is used for immoral purposes. Should you for instance let a property to a pimp to make into a harlot-house? Even if it really has little effect - he can always let another property - I don't think this is right. That is an extreme example, but if for whatever reason I were fairly sure that my property would be used for immoral purposes I think I should consider witholding it. That goes for heterosexuals too. Not a great way to make money unfortunately!
