I've been thinking there may be a possible solution here. Let's consider the example of the Christian couple who own the wedding cake business. Let's suppose a gay couple approaches a Christian business owner and wants a wedding cake for their gay wedding.

What if the Christian business owner said the following. . ."We would be happy to bake a cake for your wedding. But you should understand that every dime of profit will be donated to a pro-family lobbying organization in your name. You should expect a "Thank You" card from them thanking you for supporting the pro-family cause."

;)

Since it is the bakers money when he is paid, he can do with it whatever he likes.

As long as they treat customers equally in the public accommodating business they voluntarily opened to the public, he can do with his money, what he wishes.

A customer could then Yelp and Tweet about the experience and explain the business owner's special policy so that other customers could flood the bakery to place orders for wedding cakes for their same sex marriage. I wonder how long the bakery would survive if the owner kept true to her word about donating all profits from those cakes (which have a median price of $450) to lobbying organizations.

It seems like a cut your nose off to spite your face tactic.

what is pro-family lobbying organization, and isn't a marriage of two people considered pro-family?

I don't see any real solution here. A nice thought perhaps, but not much more.

Ther is no legal entity called "Christian" business unless it is a church or nonprofit. Every bakery that wants to discriminate can reorganize as a Church.

Certainly you don't deny that Christians can own their businesses. Do you not believe that they have the right to apply their religious beliefs, something that the Constitution guarantees in the 1st Amendment?

Why do you assume that same-sex couples are not pro-family?

Sure they can. But they still have to abide by the law. If the law says they cannot discriminate against homosexuals, then they can't discriminate against homosexuals. They are free to hate/fear/disagree with the idea of homosexuality all they want. In that way, their beliefs are not being violated.

Not when it comes to dealing with the public, which they have voluntarily opened their doors to serve.

In private, knock yourself out and discriminate and apply your beliefs all you like.

Why can GoFundMe discriminate against Christians but Christians cannot discriminate against gays?

And when I say Pro-family I mean pro-traditional marriage. (as if you didn't already know)

Why would a christian want to discriminate?
