CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I wish I would've known that the service was at 7AM instead of the normal 8AM. We missed it completely (you know something is up when they start singing hosanna's when you walk in). I'll watch mass on tv...it's better than nothing.

I'm making ham for the family (they are coming over at 12:30) so I couldn't go to a later service cause it will take about 2 hours to cook. We don't have many LCMS in the area...the other one would've been over if we had driven to it.
I'm watching mass on Catholic tv.

I really liked the Easter sunrise service but I loved the Easter Vigil service even more. The combination of the two meant getting not much sleep but it was worth it.

I celebrate Easter today, my wife will next week. This actually simplifies life in many ways.

I find it very interesting that the angel rolled the stone back, not so that Jesus could get out, but so that everyone else could see he had already gone!
The two-tonne stone had been rolled into place. The ruling authorities posted a guard and sealed the tomb with wax. They didn't want anyone stealing Jesus' body and claiming that he had risen. They knew and understood what Jesus' claims meant.
How does one stop the living God from accomplishing his purpose and goal?
