Hello,

I am not Orthodox, and I had a question I'd like an Orthodox opinion on.

I'm trying to decide what to make of Christ at the Checkpoint. I've heard some criticism of it, but their web page is kind of vague.

(Sorry, I'm not allowed to post links, but you can find their page via Google.)

Their first stated goal is to "Empower and encourage the Palestinian church"

This sounds positive, but it seems to me the major Christian group in Palestine are the Orthodox and as far as I can tell they are not involved in Christ at the Checkpoint. That made we wonder what was really going on with this group, and I was curious if anyone had any opinions?

Thanks.

Looking at their "About Us" page on their website they are an Evangelical Protestant group, so I would say they have nothing to do with Orthodox or like other Evangelical Protestant groups overseas they are converting the Orthodox to their faith. That is just a guess on my part since I have never heard of them.

Looking at their web page more deeply in other pages they very frankly refer to "evangelical Palestinians."

I think they were trying to project the image that they represent Palestinian Christians to gain a certain moral authority.

Honestly, I suspect they only represent a minority of evangelical Palestinians because I'm Protestant, and I reognized a few of the names and the ones I know represent only a minority of Fundamentalists in the US, but they like to act like they are the future of American Protestantism.
