Hello, all,
I have been away from this thread for awhile now. I took days off on the last day of transit strike and through the holidays. Returning to work is always hard due to work that is piled up. 2 hardest days for me are: last day before vacation and first day back from vacation. On the last day of work there are always so many things to do to prepare for my absence including to water my plants at the office and find someone who can temporary care for them. I have read all the post, Keep is back, sad stories, and ill health, nanajo playing the flute and mamasue missing her mother. Yes, my father died 2 years ago and my father-in-law died 2 years ago in February. I miss them both. My father was a terrific father and a brilliant man and my father-in-law was a second father to me. To top that, my dog who was 15 1/2 followed both grandfathers shortly after. The funny thing was that all three were very close. When both grandfathers were resting on the on the front yard on the summer day the dog would be sitting right between the two. I thank God for eternity!
I need your prayers. The situation is that our elderly aunt who is living in California is in ill health. She asked us to come to see her. I promised that, we got the tickets and called her over the holidays saying that on the 13th of January we are flying to California. She was happy to hear that. Well, last Saturday night she had passed away. Why does God wants us to fly to California? I do not know. So far, my brother, my son and I are scheduled to fly. My DH does not like to travel. Please keep us in prayers. May we know the will of God for this trip and may His will be done. I thank everyone who is burdened to pray for this.

Good after noon Spudgrama; I left the forum before you posted. I was invited out for the noon meal; by a couple in my church. It was nice to be there; even though it made me think of Gary and me. I have church tonight so I won't be on long.

Well I'm not sure why but it seems since the holidays that posting has been light in alot of places here~~
Today was grocery shopping for me~~and after working all week I like to take it easy on the weekends~~just vegging out is my favorite past time on the weekends~~lol

I do believe there is not as much posting on the week-ends. That is probably a good thing. People are spending time with their families and church on Sundays. Boy! it's been cold today. I have been spoiled this year with the mild weather (60's and 70's still) but today the wind was blowing and a little rain.
Diana I am so sorry about your Aunt and can understand how you must feel. I will say a prayer for you.
We are going to a new church tomorrow. We still have not found a church home since we moved so if anyone would, please pray that we find a church that meets our needs and we can make some christain friends there. I hope everyone has a good Sunday!

Hi, there, everyone. I've not been online much the last 3 days. I had the grandbabies from Wednesday through yesterday afternoon. The baby sleeps in a pack-n-play in the office while the big guy sleeps in the spare bedroom. DD went to the ER to have a pilonidal cyst drained; it was the biggest/worst cyst the ER personnel had ever seen (she was running a 105 fever).

Now that the babies have gone back home, I may still not be online as much as "normal". January is a majorly busy month for me at work, so I will have to stay over the next week or two to make up for the time lost last week.

It's been a weird winter here in the midwest, too. We had cold temperatures and snow on Friday and warmer, sunny temperatures on Saturday (highs today in the mid 50's). It's been that way all winter so far.

I think everyone must be having strange winter weather. Makes me wonder if it has anything to do with the second coming because I do believe we have entered that time.

We went to the new church today and it was very nice. We were greeted by many of the people not just one or two. After the service, which we also enjoyed, we stayed for the fellowship and once again were welcomed by more people. Praise God.

DH will be watching football today but he plans to get some of the holes dug to start putting up the shed in the backyard. We got all the building material yesterday and finalized the last details. Yeah, that can be the hardest part! I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. I will just putter around and do little things maybe even stop by the tv to catch part of one of the games.

I'm off today, although I tried to go in to work (I missed two days last week with DD's cyst and may miss more because the cyst seems to be filling back up; I have a report due to the State by the end of the month and I was behind before I needed to take the days off -- the data wasn't available when it should have been). Since I *have* to stay home today, I'm going to make it a restful day. I'll probably see if there isn't a good, old B&W movie on TCM; if not, I'll pop one in from my "library". I'll probably get some cross stitching done, too.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's cyst. My brother in law had the same problem and they finally had to do a procedure to get it removed. He is doing well, but it does take some time to heal. Have a great day and I'll remember your daughter in my prayers.
