I had a wonderful Sunday. The Pastor gave a very good sermon and the singing was exceptionally good. I got a good nights sleep which sometimes has not been easy to do lately. I got my latest DIY project done which was cleaning and touching up an old floorlamp, I have one more to go. I hope the next one does not take me as long, I tore this last one apart and then it sat downstairs for about a month. My citrus trees (indoor) still have mealybugs I bought some new stuff last week and spayed them but I saw yesterday they had some new ones. I will spray them again in a few days when it is time. Alcohol is the only thing I have found that kills them but you have to do it individually with a cotton swab and that is very tedious and I can't get them all that way. Oh, such is life. Everyone have a blessed week.

Having eye problems..please pray for me..its been going on for several weeks and can't see my Dr till Sept 9..need her for referral for insurance purposes in case of big expenses for this....
My birthday is next week..I'll be a big 57..!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I will keep you in my prayers. I understand what it is like to have to get a referral to see a specialist because of the insurance, I have to do the same thing. I will pray it is nothing serious and that you will be healed quickly without alot of testing and probing! I praise God that you have insurance that will cover the cost.

God bless you Theresa. I will surely be praying as I have had eye issues myself and have been under treatment for about six years now. Doing fine and only use eye drops daily. Something happened to a friend of mine not long ago which I am sharing with you via p.m. just in case you have a similar problem.

School starts here tomorrow not that it effects me much, just the dodging the buses in the mornings . The tourist season will be over soon and then maybe this hot weather will let up (sounds like I'm blaming the tourists for the weather ). I hope everyone had a good Sunday. It's getting ready to pour outside, it's been doing that every evening and it helps cool things down. Thank you Lord for the rain.

Let me start by apologizing for butting in on this forum. Can someone point out to me where a forum is for folks my age? I'm 43 and would like to talk w/others my age but am long past courting stage and haven't any marital issues so I don't fit into the other catagories.

Hi Christine, You might check out one of the other categories in the Life Stages section, e.g. "Women's Discussion" There is also one on "Parenting" there if that would apply? I would also look in the Edification as well as the Congregation sections. I often post in both of those and have exchanged with several in their 40's.

Both boys are back in school; one only goes half days. I'm enjoying having some quite time. Dishwasher's broken. Who knows when it'll be fixed.. My life is dishes, laundry and complaining. Don is out of clean undies, so lauundry can't be put off. Towels need folded, so I can dry whites. Any volunteers?

I just want to talk to other women my age.

You're welcome! I am sure you will find someone to exchange with your same age but it does take time. Actually I was on the site two months before I found this friendly Golden Eagles group of over 50's. Being in my sixties puts me in a minority on this website. I often connect by way of common interests rather than age.
