Thanks. I looked around even more and I guess I'm just odd woman out. I'd just like to talk about every day stuff. Call me a stick in the mud but I don't want to be talking kids...I feel like 40's is a whole change and time to reclaim my life back a little after raising kids. Time for the next step for me. I just want to talk to other women my age.

I'll come back in seven years.

Chris
Just a thought...I would try going to the Womens Discussion area....and start a thread for women in their 40's only to join in....;o) Its not perfect..but ya never know....it only takes a few to get some good interaction going.....;o)
I would help direct them to your thread if you start one and as I meet them...;o)

TJ, I continue to pray for your eye problems and hope that appt is soon. When are you going to start the thread about guessing your grandson's name. I'm all ready with my list of names.:D

Another Saturday and nothing to do. The weather has been wonderful for the last few days. I have not had the air conditioner on and it is nice to feel the breeze coming in through the windows. I still have one more floor lamp to finish, I just need to get it wired up and it will be done but this one the switch is a little different and I forgot how it was wired so I need to stop off in the DIY forum. I think I will do that now. Everyone have a relaxed and blessed Saturday. Praise God for this beautiful day.

TJ how did your eye problems turn out, you may have posted on another thread and I just missed it. I hope everything is going well for you. How's the new grandbaby?

I just finished off a huge piece of chocolate cream pie and a cup of coffee. I'm stuffed like a pig but it was soooooo good. Well worth the extra 3 pounds I'm sure it added to my hips.

Well it's 3:18 pm here in NJ and the first kiddie has arrived home from school(wants snack of course).
It has been a rather wasted day. I started off well folding clothes, washing dishes, and sweeping. After lunch I just seemed to lose all my drive. I hope tomorrow will be better.
I think it is the beautiful weather that we are having today. It is close to 90 just one of those days you would love to be in a park or by the beach instead of doing house work.
Hope everyone else is have a good day.
Take care and God Bless

The weather is a little cooler here, but it is so dry. We have rain in the forecast for later this wee. We sure do need it. Spring gardening and yardwork is so much more fun than it is in the hot dry summer. It is easy for me to neglect things this time of year when everything has to be watered and the grass doesn't look good even when freshly mowed, because it's so dry. People in the country with large areas of grass don't sprinkle their grass like those with small city lots. It just isn't practical. So it gets pretty scragley looking about this time of the year. :sigh:

Hi everybody. My husband has fallen twice in less than a week. No serious injuries, but it's gotten me a little concerned. He's going to need his walker all the time. H is shuffle has gotten slower and he cann barely lift his legs. Don't even know why Doller General had mats on the sidewalk, but he tripped.

Happy Thursday ladies!!
Humid and rainy here in my part of Oz(as we like to call NJ). We have needed the rain so badly. It came down in sheets last night and early this morning. Started right after my daughter left to walk to school.
I'm sitting here trying to think of something new and different for dinner. I am so tired of the same old things. Maybe it's that transition between summer foods and knowing we will be eating those stick to your ribs comfort foods soon. :yum:

Well I just wanted to stop in and say good morning. I hope you all have a great day.
God Bless

We have gotten our much needed rain also...not hard rain but slow and often. We have rain in the forecast through tomorrow. It's been nice to have the cooler weather, and everything was so dry. :)
My sister from Dallas is arriving on Saturday for a week. Pray that we have a good time. We really love each other, but she's an older sister and can sometimes be so opinionated. She likes to tell me how to do things, like decorating and stuff, and our tastes are completely different. She likes to give me things that don't fit in, and I appreciate her thoughtfulness, but I always feel guilty if I don't have the things out that she gave me 15 years ago. I know she notices and will be asking. You know what I mean? I don't want to offend her, but I am not a child anymore. She is a great prayer warrior though and we can have some great times together, but this one area is difficult for me. :sigh:

Thanks,
Prom

Hello Prom, Sometimes big sisters make us feel we have never grown up. I had one and can relate to your thoughts here. She was 16 years older and she acted more parental towards me than my own parents did. Also being the youngest in the family even at 68 I have an older brother who only remembers me as a child and patronizes me whenever we getogether. :o ;) Seriously ...I know the feeling and will pray the Lord provides a really good breakthrough for you and your sister.

Mine died six years ago and I miss her yet.:sigh:

Blessings,

birdie

About that rain!>>It rained here in the rain forest in WA last night for the first time in a few weeks. We have had such a dry spell and have been concerned about the possibility of fire since so many campers come out to our lake nearby. When I went out to water the plants I saw the puddles on the deck. Just a little bit..but smells so refreshing. Won't be long though and it will pour every day here and that's time to head SW to AZ.
