Have you tried tucking a cough drop in your cheek next to your gum line?
It lasts longer, and coats your throat
just enough to soothe the tickle as it melts with your saliva.
At least it helps me when my asthma flares...
hope it will help you
Thank you Gail Sis'
I have used EXTRA MINTS,
to provide the saliva in a dry mouth and throat [just, as you have described]
Also, last night I used Kilkoff Lozenges...
but, I have found, that the sweeter the item used, the greater the cough becomes
We do have HALL's Honey and Lemon /Cherry Menthol 'sweets' here too!

Maybe I will purchase some and give them 'a go'
Great idea - the same works for me in peak allergy season.
I use Halls Cherry Menthol-Eucalyptus.
They also make a honey flavor that is very popular.
Regardless - Brother Dave - you are still in my prayers,
and I will pray that you get good rest.
Thank you Bro' Tom
That is too funny...we even use the same brand and flavor
It helps at night too...tucked away, it lasts most of the night.
God bless you, Tom...and Dave

:roflmbo:
I was just thinking about our two little dogs who are our constant companions.
They must be near one or both of us at all times when we are home,
so they also sleep in our bed with us.
Going to bed here with sneezing and coughing makes for an interesting night
since both of our dogs have to thoroughly investigate any abnormal sound
that either one of us makes.
I'm talking about close investigation
with noses all the way up to our mouths that made the noise.
And just think -
some people think we treat our dogs like kids.
We DO treat our dogs like kids
In our house no dogs are allowed in bed,
so she stays on her 'bed' (a crocheted blanket folded up) next to ours.
But, yes, she will come into a room to see what the problem is,
if we sneeze, cough, or I need to do an asthma treatment.
We feel so protected and cared for
In bed with you ?
No! that is a no-no! and, with good reason
This, [bed] is my territory...
Your 'place' is downstairs
AND... this decision, is final
This 'distance', for sev
eral hours per night, helps to avoid
Attention Deficit' problems...when say;
we leave home without-them fo a few hours [up to 7 hours, on a 'trip' for-example]
They must be comfortable [left-alone] for up to half a day
or, we could return.... to find all-sorts had taken-place [in our absence]
Back in Bristol, when we kept the German Shepherd [Family] Pack
I was quite happy to have them chasing each other from the garden
into the ground floor and then back out into the garden
But, when I saw 'tempers-rising'..... I just called-out "BED!!"
and all six of them would go to their individual bedding places [game-over]
The "PARENTS" must, call the time of day... or-else the "children"
will become insolent and even seek.... to lead the pack
This, would not be good, for the parents or, the children
LOL
