Sure !

We use it for thickening soups [?]

Called corn starch in the USA.
Called cornflour in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Commonwealth countries,
except in Canada, where it is also known as corn starch.

Hi everyone...I am very slow starting today...stayed up late talking to Hubby's cousin who was calling about the death of my bil...we had a wonderful visit. But, I am tired...this is a peaceful tired I think. :)

I love this verse and can see God making it a reality in my life.

Today's Verse:
But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
- 1 Thessalonians 4:9 (KJV)

God Himself, teaches us to love one another...He gets all the glory!

:amen: Shirley!
Blessings on you and your loved ones

Penny and I slept in today (much needed after our restless nights this past week).
It is cloudy and gray...and very humid; our walk must wait for the showers to pass.

I think I will get on the treadmill for a bit, in case we can't walk (we walked twice yesterday).

May Christ be your Presence and peace this day

We had a long walk yesterday for us, but it is already too hot to go out this morning...
my legs need the down time today anyway.

I feel kind of weepy at what God is doing in the family right now.
Our nephew called and he is arranging a military service for his dad...hopefully next week.:hug::hug:Hugs for you Gail.

Hi Everyone,

I was looking for a place to introduce myself, but couldn't see one, so I'll just leave a quick message here.

Some of you may recognize me from the book forum, also arts and crafts, but in case you don't frequent those, here's a bit about me. I am 63 years old, am married to a retired family doctor and we have 4 adult children, 2 of whom live away from home and 3 of whom are on the autistic spectrum. In my younger days I was a social worker.

I was brought up in a Quaker home and became a Christian at the age of 6 years. My current family and I now belong to a Baptist church.

Looking forward to getting to know you.

Gillian

Do you wanna get rid of Ants ??

All you need
is to put down some cornflour
across their trails

They eat it and return with it to the nest

It is indigestible
and will rapidly kill-off the entire nest
solving their nuisance for at least a season

The above actually works, very-effectively
you CAN take that to the bank
You might have-to replenish the piles from time to time
but, one pack, is more than enough to deal with several nests

dave

True; I'll have to dig it out and put some down!
Yup they do...no sign of them when it rains.
Thanks :)

Is corn flour the same as corn starch?...or corn meal??

*ETA: your definitions are different that ours LOL

I am surely going to do the corn flour thing... today probably.

when it rains I get more ants. lol... they climb up to my house for safety :)

Then you probably have a nest inside or under your house

When we see them inside... we bait them with cornflour
at floor level inside cupboards
It is surprising, just how-quickly, they cease coming

If Mary sees a single-ant 'indoors', it might as well be hundreds
her nervous system goes haywire

I provided the cornflour remedy and established control over those beasties
Not understanding the effectiveness [attractiveness] of the cornflour
Mary will shake it all around the perimeter of the house [overkill /waste]

But it makes her feel much safer, so hey ho! I can go with that

Take your time, to discover their 'routes'
and deposit a teaspoonsful, across them, at various points
The ants are very-greedy with the cornflour /starch
so keep topping-up the feeding-points, for as long as you can still see them...
When they have disappeared, you can use the starch for it's regular usages

:D

This is fascinating...I will remember this treatment, because we do have ant problems from time to time too...and I cannot stand chemicals.

Welcome Gillian.
I noticed you've read Jan Karon. I love those books! Another Christian fiction book you might like to read is "Can't Wait to Get to Heaven" by Fannie Flagg.
You'll enjoy it here.
Bye now,
