I had a busy day...worked on a blog post, went down to Redlands to pick out a paint color for the bathroom...stopped at a grocery store, then a bead shop...

Got home, unloaded the groceries, and made a beaded necklace for the daughter of our contractor, she is 16, hope she likes what I made, it should go with T-shirts and jeans...LOL

Hubby is sicker with this virus, but has been home more today, just sitting helps a lot, he bought some homemade tamales at his office, so we ate those for dinner...his appetite is off and I don't feel like cooking for just me. We are well taken care of.

I am still sleeping, sitting up in a chair...not quite ready to lay down with my stuffy sinuses......at least I do sleep in the chair...better than nothing.

car broke down yesterday... been doing the public transportation thing... wow is that inconvenient. My feet are sore. My legs are about to give out from all that walking and missing busses. (missed two today)...car is safe and sound at the shop... I'll know the verdict tomorrow... Had a nice conversation with the young marine who towed my car. Very nice young man. It was nice talking to him on my way to the shop..
He left the marines after his tour in Afghanistan. I got the feeling he saw some heavy action... He was only about 24 or 25... all grown up now. such a gentle soul.
confession--. I sat in his tow truck and napped while he put my car up on the back of it :)

I can't believe it was like a Spring Day here - 74F. We took advantage of a gorgeous day and took a drive in our Wildlife Refuge. Today was a great day for seeing and watching a variety of animals (i.e. deer, longhorn, buffalo, prairie dogs). We saw a few very young longhorn and deer that sure were fun to watch. We took the long way home and took a drive through the country.

anglewind, new houses are only new for a little while. :) my parents had one built when I was 10. Seemed cool at the time but its an old house now. lol... It is all relative.... My dream house is new of course, because its the one i picked out from a house plan book... but if someone built it, fixed all the quirks and then sold it to me I would be just as happy. I think I like brick best of all. The dream home is light stucco with spanish arches all throughout. Right now I live in a trailer. I suppose it was new once (before I paid half price for it)

Sure hope the car isn't too pricey of a fix.
And as for living arrangements, we bought a trailer new, and now it is twenty years old, & still going good for us.
Scaling down from a house is easy in a lot of ways. Maintaining, insuring and heating is less. As years go by we need less things, so smaller is better for us.
I know the new house will be such a joy for Angelwind, am so happy for that.
A good day to all, and blessings too.

We still live in a house, but we have gotten rid of many things...and we are not pack rats...
We are not getting a new house, just remodeling the bathroom that really needs it, dripping pipes and crumbling tiles were everywhere.

My son's inlaws are very into decorating and always having the newest things, we cannot compare to them...:sorry::angel:

Top of the morning Eagles. I take it everyone is well. Were's Dave? I'm painting a very large project right now...it's 3' x 4' and barely fit in my car. I've started with a neutral gray wash as they are supposed to be in a cave. It's the Aztek Indians OR Mayan culture celebrating their annual "Dia Del Muertos" or "Day of the Dead". It's a work in progress and has me pretty much chained to my easel most evenings but hey...it beats watching t.v. IMHO. I'm struggling with creating some depth now as the mariachi band seem to floating in thin air. The coffin needs more detail too. Sigh....so much to do and so little time to do it all. Here's what I have so far peeps....

my son's girlfriends were always rich... I always felt inferior... it was a mistake to allow myself to adopt that mindset. I was always apologizing to him for our status and sucking up to the rich folks as not to embarrass him. they weren't better, but they were meaner and my feeling inferior contributed to the lack of respect he now has for me. you are wonderful Shirley, please don't feel different than that. :(

I wanted one that I didn't have to worry about. :( I'll only be in it to and from work tonight and tomorrow... the rest of the time it sits on the parking lot. :)

I needed it because i work until 10:30 tonight and then again at 6 am tomorrow

O Birdie what a nice thing to say...yes, I have felt inferior to them...not so much anymore, but it is a struggle at times...my son is impressed by the things his inlaws buy...we have a comfortable living, earned honestly, but we are not big spenders. Lately I am not so intimidated by anyone...I have opinions and understand boundaries better and I can speak up...it almost scares me LOL. How to walk in this freedom is a challenge as I still am accountable to the Lord for my motives and words...I am a work in progress as they say.

Today was a busy day having lovely lunch with daughter, doing errands etc :)
Hubby will be home most of the next week (no work); pay will be less, but the Lord will provide, and we will enjoy the time off together

It won't be from the government...we had to PAY taxes because too little was paid in estimated tax with his contract job :p

All is well ~ Lord will provide
