Hi everyone we had our Christmas service today. I am disappointed that there will be no Christmas eve service but there is really no one to lead it. Our interim pastor lives out of town and is busy and everyone else is over extended. I will have to check out other churches to see if I can find one to go to. Do you guys go to church over Christmas? When I was a teenager we had a Christmas morning service and it was awesome that doesn't seem to happen much these days I guess cause lots of people are away or something but it is special. I do really love a candle light christmas eve service the best though. I remember as a younger girl walking through the snow to our protestant chapel on a snowy Christmas eve(we lived on an airforce base) and it was just a magical quiet reverent memory for me. I really kind of came to the understanding of the true meaning of Christmas then.

Thank you! I did post in under the general prayer request thread, but not the one on GE. I am confident that God has something better. I just need to remain so, if the days seem to stretch out long. So, your continued prayers are welcome, and appreciated!

Michael

Michael,

You are in my prayers every day. I hope and pray that the answer comes soon. My thoughts are that God will work everything out for your good, just as the Scripture says.

Romans 8:24-28 For in hope were we saved: but hope that is seen is not hope: for who hopeth for that which he seeth? 25 But if we hope for that which we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. 26 And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered; 27 and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.

Good evening. We have a candle Christmas Eve service at 10:30pm I sing and play handbells for. Then we also have Christmas Day service. On Christmas eve there is also a 5pm and 7pm service.

That brings back special memories. Our church always had the childrens Christmas play on Christmas Eve. It was a tradition and afterwards all the children would get a small sack of candy with an orange and the orange always made the unwrapped candy sticky. Isn't it funny what we remember with fondness. Our church now does not have a Christmas Day service, I guess so the pastor can be with his family. I miss that though. We do have a Christmas Eve service so that's nice.

I forgot to add that one of stressful things at Christmas is waiting for the things we ordered by mail to get here! I am still waiting for 2 packages and I called the companies this morning to find out where they are. Stressful but my fault for waiting so late to order. Where's the emoticon for stressed when I need it?

My stress is not having enough time to wrap everything .I have to go to choir and handbells tonight and also make last minute avon deliveries too. So I won't be home until late before I can even get started wrapping.

Can you do some or many in the gift bags? Paper is more economical, I know, but you can re-use the bags and they do save some time!

I still have to wrap about 2 gift small gifts, but after that I'm done.

GBU all, Merry Christmas!

that sounds, just so much the 'affliction' that I endured
~ a nosey cold for two or three days, that seemed, to pass
but which was then followed by a rattly/tickly cough
that would become a hacking cough [dry/ unproductive]
at 8 - 9 weeks my doctor, gave me inhalers
beclometasone and salamol and when I showed a 'slow-response' to these
he sent me for x-rays which showed my chest was "clear"
When my symptoms eased-somewhat
my doc' reduced my use of those inhalers, and the 'cough' returned, in-full

I bought a bottle of Benylin Expectorant ...£4.45
which proved to be 'useless'
A christian friend of mine who attended our ceramics class
recommended Bell's Bronchial Balsam £0.99 very-highly
and after 100ml I can concur with her findings...
Now, after 11 weeks of coughing, the congestion is breaking up
and I am without coughs, all day
and there is, every sign of an end to it, in sight

I havent been at all 'unwell' throughout this 'experience'

Feeling a bit stressed out today. I have to clean house and still have shopping to do. The concern about my grand baby to be still nags at me. I just want tomorrow to be over with. The tests hopefully will give a clearer picture of what is wrong and what can be done. It is hard coming any time but especially at christmas.

Praying that God will supernaturally just heal this little one in the womb!
