CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Subject: Proverbs 18:21 story
Once Upon A Time...
Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs...
who arranged a running competition.
The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.
A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race
and cheer on the contestants...
The race began...
Honestly: No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs
would reach the top of the tower.
You heard statements such as:
"Oh, WAY too difficult!"
"They will NEVER make it to the top."
or:
"Not a chance they will succeed. The tower is too high!"
The tiny frogs began collapsing.
One by one...Except for those,
who in a fresh tempo,
were climbing higher and higher...
The crowd continued to yell,
"It is too difficult! No one will make it!"
More tiny frogs got tired and gave up...
But ONE continued higher and higher and higher...
this one wouldn't give up!
At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower.
Except for the one tiny frog, who, after a big effort,
was the only one who reached the top!
THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know
how this one frog managed to do it?
A contestant asked the tiny frog
how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?
It turned out...
The winner was DEAF !!!
The wisdom of this story is:
Never listen to other people's tendencies to be
negative or pessimistic...
because they take
your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you...
the ones you have in your heart!
Always think of the power words have.
"There's life and death in the power of the tongue"
Proverbs 18:21.
Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!
Therefore: ALWAYS be... POSITIVE!
And above all: Be DEAF when people tell YOU,
"You cannot fulfill your dreams!"
Always think: God and I can do this!
Consider passing this message on

Mary and I didn't get to visit the museum yesterday
I had an upset tummy and therefore couldn't risk being 'caught-out' and about
Perhaps, we will do it next week [sometime]
I have a problem with photobucket's editing facility being 'dysfunctional'
my .mov type, camera video-files, cannot be imported into Windows Movie-Maker
and made into a video
and I have-to await photobucket's solving of their problems there
before I can 'clip' my clips of Blackpool's Illuminations together as a movie
I have 'patience' to await their repairs

Dave, I LOVED reading the Bear thing again *laughs* My very first username (elsewhere) was "Bereth", which of course got shortened to "Ber" . . and then morphed into MamaBer (for obvious reasons, lol) and someone sent that to me (again, for obvious reasons!)
Ah pooh . . the day is predicted to be horrifically windy and uber cold, with chances of snow. Just seems too early! *grins* but a good day to snuggle in and catch up on some reading. Then I don't have to look out at all the bare patches of black ground in my almost-barren flowerbeds. I am so very much going to miss the growing season . .

Good morning friends! Wishes for a beautiful day to all. It's clear and warm here. I'm off in a little while to have lunch with my aunt. Yesterday it was rainy and very windy. My umbrella blew out and I don't think it's useable any more.

Good afternoon all. It's windy and cold 45 here. I've been helping hubby get things put away for the winter. He cleaned out all the garden. Got a lot of green tomatoes, so Im going to make green tomato relish. Buttercup, I can give you several umbrellas. We found about 4 that were in boxes in the garage.

Hi all it is beautifully sunny here not too warm though but not terrible I think it is around 13 Celsius. Took it very easy today and yesterday and plan to go out for dinner with the family. Just nachos nothing fancy but nice to nibble. Jan

Beautiful day in NYC. Had lunch with my aunt and did some errands. Spent the evening making cards. The result is not "perfect," but they are cute and shows a lot of me.

Made it through a day of work today. Now I am cooking a nice (I hope) supper for whoever shows up. lol. I think both my sons are working late. Tonight I go to my drama group at chruch. Not sure if I will be able to handle a part in our next skit or play due to the post concussion syndrome thing. My concentration is really bad. Jan
