CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That sounds like fun.
We had a quiet one. Just us. We BBQ'd and then watched the concert in DC and the fireworks in NYC. I love being able to sit at home with a cup of coffee and watching them on tv.

Good Morning everyone. We watched the fireworks and concert on the replaying of it around 11pm last night. We also watched a program showing how the fireworks are made in China. That was very interesting.

I cut and pasted it into my picture editor and then saved it to my desktop where I copied it from. I like the way it is but if I change it then I have to do the same procedure to keep it that size which is a hassle to me so I don't change it, lol. Maybe some day.

that the QUOTED METHOD didnt work for me
to be able to place any suitably sized pic within the AVATAR box
so, leave well alone, for the time being
or, the only display you will have
is, the image-placeholder.... in place of an avatar

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem
Me, too, MissM. Today was a little quieter, but I don't feel rested. Hope tomorrow is a quiet day at work. Tomorrow night I have a prayer service for my friend's mother who passed away last week.

Mine was super busy too I have to be up early to see my new home stay student fed and off to school on the bus. Then I may head back for a nap. Maybe not though as lately I find that once I am up that is it. Anyway I am off to bed now it has been a great day. Jan

Howdy All. The sun is shining just my dog and I at home now as all the clan are off to work home stay student to school etc. Last week I had one son home sick, one on holiday and one working from home. Only my niece and husband were gone during the day. I don't know but I love the peace and quiet. LOL. I will be puttering cleaning and preparing dinner for the hordes but hope to get out to enjoy the day as well. Jan
