  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

GOOD JOB, WAY TO GO, DAVE!!!!

It's early morning here in Texas--6:46 AM. I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee. My DH is still asleep--my toy poodle Dante slumbers near me, my cat is also near. Soon I'll sign off and spend some time in Psalms and Proverbs, and time with my Father. He is so good, so gracious.

Be blessed, dear ones. May you all have a lovely day in the Lord today.

I get the joy of being up early to let the dog out and feed her so decided to check out the site. It isn't really early I made the dog wait till almost 8 am as she got hubby up in the night. Guess she is getting old just like us. lol It is another cloudy but so far dry day. I will be confinded to house today as son is using car for work hubby coaches soccer all afternoon etc. That is ok as I have a ton of stuff to do as I haven't done any house work since last weekend.
I am still upsest about the changes at our church but have a better understanding of the issues now. I believe pride is at work here although I am sure the principals involved would not recognize it in themselves. I keep praying. Jan

I am always pensive on Memorial Day. I found this poem I had written. I wanted to share it.

To a Fallen Soldier

I was the daughter born after your death
So I never saw you--
Never saw your face or hair,
Or felt your arms around me,
Or looked into your eyes,
Or heard your voice.

And yet, while we never had a conversation
You spoke to me.

You spoke of courage,
For you pulled others out
When they were pinned.

You spoke of caring,
For you wrote my mother
Even when you didn't get a letter.

You spoke of balance,
For you planned,
Even in the brutal pulse of battle.

You spoke of hope.
Even as you gave your life,
You spoke of hope--

You spoke.
You are speaking to me now.
Thank you Daddy.

It is a lovely poem ariel. My weekend has been pretty relaxed. Hubby helped with the houwework yesterday so it went quickly. I even had time for some unexpected sunning on the deck. It was supposed to be overcast. I did some reading and finished listening to Focus on the families Radio Theater production of Prince Caspian. It is so well done. I am not sure now if I will bother going to the movie. Anyone seen it? I have been praying off and on for our church and God has reassured me to "Be anxious for nothing but to present my requests and receive His peace in this difficult situation." so I am expecting a wonderful worship time with Him this morning at church. Hello Jan!

Yes, I saw the movie. My husband and sons thought it was awesome, I thought it was okay--somehow I liked the book better, although I'm not sure why.

Re--that situation in your church. Yes, that sounds just like the Lord. So then let us praise God that He knows about the situation, and He is moving in some way to work it out. He is so kind.

One of the young men was at church today the other not but that didn't surprise me knowing the two personalities. Pastor is being very gracious and we will see how the Lord moves. My oldest son who started to youth work will now step back in and assist pastor for a few months. Even after stepping down my son continued to be involved but just not in leadership so he doesn't mind. I think he will limit the committment till September though. We want to see God move so badly and are so hungry for revival. We live in a wet climate physically but a very dry and dark one spiritually. Jan
