  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I wish you success.

My prayers are with you both. It is very hard to do but you will be so proud of yourselves when you do it. Just remember that everyday that you go without smoking is----is a day you will have to do again if you start up. Does that make sense? I hope so. God bless.

Well, I don't smoke, but I am trying to diet...which right now seems to be proving difficult:doh:

For those of you trying to quit smoking, hope this is encouraging. My mother smoked heavily for over 50 years and decided to quit smoking finally. I didn't think she would ever quit, but she did. She has been smoke-free now for about 15 years.

Praying for you in your efforts. Blessings~~

Prayers.... that your Son
can acknowledge, the unnecessary risk
that we have taken in our lives

Where 'risks' taken, with an intent
to achieve the beneficial, have, some hope
and possibly good outcome

Smoking, does not only put soot in the chimney
but alters body cells to behave abnormally
and ALWAYS detrimentally

I moved from Ready-Made Cigarettes to hand rolling tobacco
over 40 years ago
this because I learned of the chemicals which are 'washed-in'
to make the tobacco burn evenly in 'ready mades'
Once lit, these cigarettes will burn to the end,
even, when no-one puffs on them...just, like a fuse ?

A roll-up will go out after the space of, two/three puffs
when no puff is taken

roll-up tobacco is, moister [when fresh] and, does not dry the throat

Until I was eleven years old, I had suffered from Bronchitis
several times a year, ie: throughout my childhood

I began smoking, with my entry to High School
and bronchitis, has FAILED, TO VISIT ME SINCE...... [?]
I guess, that something in the smoke, prevented further infections

Nowadays,
the blood vessels, are showing
that they have become FURRED-UP
and cholesterols can be wicked vessel blockers
causing, swelling, of, arteries, infarcts and haemorhages

Bad News all-around......

We can do this! We have our faith in the Lord and that strengthens us!
I think tomorrow will be the day that I will wake up and not light up!

I wrote and posted this here on 29th December 2006

I have climbed-up hills and mountains and marched across the land
I have swum in rivers and oceans and flown to and from foreign-land
I could never find an answer to the question I had at hand
why I, could stand there firmly whilst the other folks stood on sand
I cannot confirm, what I am believing, I am only a man
but I feel that I am protected by one Almighty Hand

I have been down the diet trail too. I had been 50 lbs gone before the holiday's, but I have since put about 20 back on. So now I will be fighting with the smoking and the weight too.
But I can do it if I pray and ask the Lord for strength.
I will be praying for you dieting too.
God Bless

I will be praying for him also.
Smoking is a very nasty habit and I wish that I had never started.

Tomorrow I will wake up, but not light up.
Good night my friends.
With much love,
God Bless

I woke up this-morning, bleary-eyed and yawning like Muffin the Mule

> I caught a glimpse in the bathroom mirror over the cheek & with one eye open <

I felt like I hadnt had quite long enough, but anyway, I am awake
and am not going back > pants on shirt on slippers on <

Mary is downstairs cleaning the tops
and then mopped the floors... saying good-morning to one another
as I strolled in and put the kettle on to boil
for a cuppa tea for Mary and a coffee for myself

All this
instead of, heading directly to the back door
with cigarette-papers and my baccy in hand

This morning, it is different,
today, the coffee
and my Adalat 20mg
and Aspirin 75mg, they will come first
and then I will try
to think of other things, like folks here and 'Piper'
a seven years old lady collie
that is coming to stay with us for a week or two
Her owners are going south on holiday
where dogs are not allowed
and for-whom, kennel-costs are prohibitive
and not, like
leaving your pet with someone you know does love them

So every moment I dont spend THINKING
about that USA PRODUCT from 'Virginia'
is how much closer I come > to leaving it alone

I have, cut back to 15 each day [thereabouts]

My 'confidence' though shaky
comes from knowing I have some here
for, whenever I might start feeling queer
and /or,
shakes and trembles start a-happening
but that will be for the best I fear
if, I do not feed this hunger
I can pick up my prescription for Nicotine Patches
in a couple of hours
and they will be of help
and the FREE Nicotinell Chewing Gum will doubtless be a boon
and help to tide me over, so I can give up soon

Good morning all
:)

Here I go again.... and ALWAYS seriously
but this time there will be no going back

I would like very much to quit...
but as I type this,
the skin on my face is already beginning to thrill
Mary is making me a boiled egg sandwich
'something different' for breakfast

We had homemade Apple Crumble last night [takes bow]
with Vanilla Icecream over it MMMMMMMMMMMhhhhh!!
and before that, we had Beef Risotto, for lunch
which was my very first attempt
to make and eat that meal, > it was very tasty

I want my body, to experience 'different things'
to try to camouflage
it's removal from something that is BAD for it

Good Morning Dave, I read your post and can really relate. I quit smoking many years ago and I can still remember what it was like. It CAN be done and you can do it. Oh, PS, much of that "product" is grown right here in good ole North Carolina.;)
