• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi Dave. I love the turtle. I used to do ceramics a long time ago. I made a whole set of dishes. 8 place settings. I also made 2 lamps, and a large Nativity Set.I really enjoyed doing it. Very relaxing. The woman who held the classes moved too far away. I didnt' find another place as nice to go,so I stopped.

LOL yes, it is very satisfying indeed

I WISH.... I had my own kiln,
but, they are just, so-expensive to buy
and NOT cheap to run, either

 Beautiful tortoise, Dave. I used to do some claywork, but its been a long, long time. It is a relaxing and pleasant way to create beautiful things.
Congrats on your 11th star, Ms!! Everyone is in my prayers today.

Mary has asked me to thank you Val

We were both amazed to see the result of the glazes being fired-in
It cost her, only, £1.30pence 'contribution to costs'
A 'bargain' however you view it

in the hopes that you will go to the site
and he will make five cents for each hit.
That's right, all of that inconvenience over a nickel!
How do you stop it?
Well, there are several easy steps:
(1) When you forward an e-mail,
DELETE all of the other addresses that appear
in the body of the message (at the top).
That's right, DELETE them.
Highlight them and delete them,
backspace them, cut them,
whatever it is you know how to do.
It only takes a few seconds.
You MUST click the "Forward" button first
and then you will have full editing capabilities
against the body and headers of the message.
If you don't click on "Forward" first, you won't be able to edit the message at all.
(2) Whenever you send an e-mail to
more than one person, do NOT use the To: or Cc: fields
for adding e-mail addresses.
Always use the BCC: (blind carbon copy) field

for listing the e-mail addresses.

This is the way the people you send to

will only see their own e-mail address.

If you don't see your BCC: option

click on where it says To:

and your address list will appear.

Highlight the address and choose BCC:

and that's it, it's that easy.

When you send to BCC: your message will

automatically say "Undisclosed Recipients"

in the "TO:" field of the people

who receive it.

(3) Remove any "FW :" in the subject line.
You can re-name the subject if you wish or even fix spelling.
(4) ALWAYS hit your Forward button
from the actual e-mail you are reading.
Ever get those e-mails
that you have to open 10 pages
to read the one page
with the information on it?
By Forwarding from the actual page you wish someone to view,
you stop them from having to open many e-mails just to see what you sent.
(5) Have you ever gotten an email that is a petition?
It states a position and asks you to add your name and address
and to forward it to 10 or 15 people
or your entire address book.
The email can be forwarded on
and on
and can collect thousands of names
and email addresses.
A FACT:
The completed petition
is actually worth a couple of bucks to a professional spammer
because of the wealth of valid names and email addresses
contained therein.
If you want to support the petition,
send it as your own personal letter to the intended recipient.
Your position may carry more weight as a personal letter than a laundry list of names and email address on a petition.
(Actually, if you think about it, who's supposed to send the petition in to whatever cause it supports? And don't believe the ones that say that the email is being traced, it just aint so!)
(6) One of the main ones I hate is the ones that say that something like,
"Send this email to 10 people and you'll see something great run across your screen."
Or, sometimes they'll just tease you by saying something really cute will happen IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!
(Trust me, I'm still seeing some of the same ones that I waited on 10 years ago!)
I don't let the bad luck ones scare me either, they get trashed.
(Could be why I haven't won the lottery??)
(7) Before you forward an Amber Alert,
or a Virus Alert, or some of the other ones floating around nowadays, check them out before you forward them.
Most of them are junk mail that's been circling the net for YEARS! Just about everything you receive in an email that is in question can be checked out at Snopes.
Just go to
> >> http://www.snopes.com/
Its really easy to find out if it's real or not. If it's not, please don't pass it on.
So please, in the future, let's stop the junk mail and the viruses.
Finally, here's an idea!!!
Let's send this to everyone we know (but strip my address off first, please).
This is something that SHOULD be forwarded. Also, there is no need
to reply to this. There is enough "stuff" out there already!

have a great day.
Passed a few reppies your way, nj. Working toward the stars is a lot of fun for me, but the most fun comes from giving out those reps. So many people touch me in a special way and I really enjoy letting them know how much their words mean to me.:hug:

Good Morning All. Hope your Thursday is a great one. Looks like the sun is out this morning but a little chilly. They are saying we going to get rain tonight and possible tornados around here tomorrow. I sure hope that tornadoes say far away.

Hello Jan

I am glad to hear, that ____"All is well now"
You must, feel 'blessed'

You mentioned "dreamland"
as a place that I go to....

Prior to my coming here to Manchester
I would dream nightly and often would go to bed
to continue the dream from the night before [?]
Strangely, I cannot remember dreaming at-all
since I arrived here
It's as-if, I no longer need-to

Have a good rest Sis'
I will look for your posts later this morning

You can use PM's 'any time'

Hi All,
I just thought that I would say Hi and introduce myself. My name is Kathy. I found this website about a week ago and have been surfing around and checking it out. I just wanted to find a good website where I could meet folks and learn about 'life'. Know what I mean? This seems like such a nice place to 'hang out'. I then seen the "Golden Eagles" group and decided that I should drop in and say 'Hi', if it is ok with all of you. I am 52 so I guess I qualify to be a 'Golden Eagle'. I must admit, I have been called a 'Golden Oldie' before but never a 'Golden Eagle' :D

Short Bio, I have been married to my husband Don (my one and only), for 34 years (come this August). We have two kids, Daughter who will be 33 in August, married with two kids, 14yr old (girl), and 8yr old (boy). Our Son will be 30 in June, he is married and has a 7yr old Son. They are all doing great and are all great kids. My Husband is a Diesel Mechanic (big trucks, semi's), and has been for the past 37 years or so. As for me, these days I am a 'housewife' and a 'stand-by grandma'. I quit working back in 1997. So I guess that I can say that I am 'retired', for now anyway.

Well, like I said, I just wanted to drop by and say 'Hi' and I will check this forum out in the future and participate when I can.

Everyone, take care and God Bless You and Yours.

Kathy

Well, like I said, I just wanted to drop by and say 'Hi' and I will check this forum out in the future and participate when I can.

Everyone, take care and God Bless You and Yours.

Good evening Kathy. Glad you found us. It's a lot of fun talking to people from all over the world. There are so many different places to visit her. Contest to join. I've only been involved for a couple of months. My daughter started and showed me how to do it.
I'm married and my daughter and husband have a 6yr old boy who has autism, so I'm really involved with that too. He is very smart and will talk about the weather all day or tell you the routine for the day at school all the time. He's a very loveable guy!
Come back and visit again.
