Hi everyone


Just looking in briefly to see how you all are?

I have been rather busy of late and we have also had a house guest to stay.


We have had a bit of a battle with our NHS as Rob decided he wanted a second opinion regarding his brain tumour and we were told he couldn't have one (second opinion that is - he is on his second brain tumour).

Anyway, we now have to pay for a private consultation,about 3-4 hours drive away, but it will be worth it for our peace of mind. We are fairly sure that the tumour is growing as Rob is getting increased symptoms - his speech is now affected. I will look in when I can.

I don't usually pass on political advice or info, however
we had all better wake up and start paying attention!

This morning, in Pakistan, Taliban Minister of Migration, Mohammed Omar,
warned the Unitedd States that if military action against Iraq continues,
Taliban authorities will cut off America's supply of convenience store managers.

And if this action does not yield sufficient results, cab drivers will be next,
followed by Dell Computer customer service reps, AOL Help,
Motel 6 managers, and liquor store cashiers.

Who knew it would come to this.
It's getting ugly.

Dave, This is so true. I can't wait to tell everyone in the office tomorrow.
I also wanted to tell everyone about our new addition to our family. We adopted a 1yr8mos chocolate lab. Her name is Allie. She just wants to have a lot of love and attention. We hope she will be able to train for hunting, but the most important job she'll have is to bring the 2 newspapers each day in the house.
This is our first night with her so we will hope that she will sleep during the night.

This is a concern. As I pray for my country, I am mostly led to pray for God's mercy. Our real enemy is ourselves, in that sin gives the enemy a legal right to attack, and that God's protection is not on those who treat Him and His ways with callousness and disrespect.

How can we expect His protection if we do not regard Him as worthy of love, obedience and respect?

I find myself praying Daniel 9:1-20 for my country, changing the words of course to apply to our leaders and people.

I find myself confessing my sins and the sin of my country:

Would that God would turn us!

And yet, and yet--there are many who love God, too, and who serve Him. I am so blessed to know so many, you all among them.

Hi folks! Anyone need a day brightener?
My job requires that I pass on insurance policies to underwriters, stating certain facts about the policy holders (PI's) and the person who gave that particular information. Yesterday I had a policy where, unfortunately the insured had passed away, and his nephew from Mexico had answered the questions. So duly noted on the bottom of the policy was the following:
"PI deceased. Spoke w/Jesus."

It is so sad to hear stories of dogs who just can't seem to fit in. It seemed that he wanted to, but just didn't quite get the idea how.
I hope you finds another home without other pets.

We got BARNEY from Manchester Dog's Home on March 16th

He was in a pen [there] with two Staffordshire Bull Terriers
He was [so the paperwork said] 5 years old, but
He had puppy like behaviour and commands like sit and, lie down
simply meant-nothing to him for about a week
He was very thin, [his ribs showed through]
He was very-quiet
this, because, [we now believe] the dominance of the other two dogs there

We, [Mary and I] fell in love with him
He cost £65 [immediately] for the privilege of adopting
EVERYTHING is MONEY [there]

ais: He was very PUPPY-LIKE and responded to all 'affectionately'

He was possessive of the cuddly toys
that 'Rolo' had accumulated
ALTHOUGH!!! we gave him, 'his-own'

He would also, steal from Rolo's food dish,
after, eating his own

Rolo, would complain with a growl
and Barney, would react
with extremely aggressive behaviour

Within a couple of, days, of, Barney's arrival here
I had taken 'bites' to my right hand and arm
separating them

We, had HOPED, they would settle together
because Barney had, just that ONE FAULT

The other evening [Friday] Mary's son, Denis
called to visit his Mum [us]
and Barney ran to the front door to greet-him
Rolo too, then wanted to say 'hello' to Denis
But! Barney was having NONE of that
and wanted Denis's affection to himself

He pinned Rolo to the floor, biting him behind the ear
and on his neck
Rolo, screamed in agony as I grabbed Barney's tail and collar
Denis, rushed to my aid and prised Rolo from Barneys mouth

Mary and I, were then CONVINCED
that we should not leave Rolo VULNERABLE to such punishment
and we returned him the very next afternoon
'Joyce' took us there in her car
We bought her a nice bunch of flowers, by way of thank you
because, she would-not accept fuel money from us

Yes, we had been reluctant to take such a step
'endeavoured' to communicate with Barney
that we did not wish for him to behave in that way
but, two weeks of, unrelenting 'watching' for, trouble
and driving Barney off to his, own space

Was neither, fair on Rolo or, ourselves

The Adoption Fee is non-returnable
We are in no-hurry
to try another, while Rolo is still with us

ais: That, was Barney's only fault.... historically induced
He, would have made a wonderful 'ONLY DOG'

Perhaps, and I hope, that the VERY DETAILED REPORT
I wrote out [reason for return]
WILL MEAN, that he, will be adopted
as an only-dog. He deserves 'his chance'

I was hoping that the sun would be shining and I could get out and walk, but no. That's ok I have cabinets to clean and a floor to mop.

Surprisingly after a weekend of rain hail and snow we have a beautifully sunny but chilly Monday. Nice to go to work today as I was out in the community bussing with student to his job. I am sure I have missed a lot since being away but shall endeavor to get in the loop asap. i have to go and canvas for the kidney foundation tonight as it is the last chance. Jan

Rainy and chilly in NYC, too, in the morning, but clear in the afternoon and a lot warmer. Tomorrow should be in the 60s, a real spring day. Tulips are starting to come out and I saw my first crocus in bloom on Saturday.
