Happy Boxing Day everyone and good evening to you all
Yesterday at lunchtime we went to Mary's son Denis's family home
we had christmas lunch, exchanged presents
and we left after the children were made ready for bed
When we got home, we sorted the dogs
whom had been left to amuse themselves for five hours
with a meal, and release to the garden out the back
Within a half hour, Mary's son Andrew came around in his car
to pick us up for joining them at his family home for the evening
we arrived home at a little after 5am and after letting the dogs 'out' for a while
then retired to bed, happy but exhausted
I enjoyed this 'time' immensely
and am sure... that I have been drawn 'closer' by this family of, Mary's
Andrew's wife 'Pat' asked me if, I missed my family at-all
and I was able to reply negatively [no]
I am unwillingly to look back with regret...
because:
Whatever I did back then
was, my best and, for the best of, reasons/ intent
Back then, the family had begun to go their own ways
and begin..... to lead, their lives, for-themselves
I still have contact with my girls and the grandchildren
and occasionally have spoken with two of my lads
They, all of them KNOW, where I am
and CONTACT with me, has to be of, their own free will and intent
I am not lonely [any more] and havent been so for several years
On, a day to day basis...
I enjoy my life here, with Mary and her family, neighbours and friends
So it is, that when, I count my blessings
I have, no-regrets,
no-longings to retrieve anything from my past
and have contentment and much joy, here, where I am
This, GIFT.... of peaceful happiness, contentment and appreciation
for simple things and attentions is a wonderful-blessing
for-which, I am thoroughly grateful... PTL
