Amadeus2: Where abouts in Oklahoma. My mom's family are from the Blackwell area. Wheat farming runs in her family tree. Mom, age 84, is still with us (PTL) and her cousins' children are running the farms. I have some memories of the farms when the parents took us as children to Oklahoma. I remember the taste of fresh raw milk.

Ponca City, Kay County. As a matter of fact we lived in Blackwell for a few months some years back.

While I was born in Oklahoma City, I moved to California with my mother when I was only a toddler. My wife, a native Californian (born in San Francisco) moved here in 1987 after first spending 2 years in Wyoming.

My father remained in Oklahoma City after my mother divorced him so my visits to Oklahoma over the years were quite frequent. Now I guess that I am here for the long haul. [My father died in 1992 at age 73 and my mother in 2006 at age 83]

Our high school is doing the musical Oklahoma this year. I just want to break out in song :}

Yes, Mom's parents moved to San Diego when she was young. Mom still recounts her visits to the farms and riding the big work horses bare back. Their lope "like a rocking chair," she would say. Lost Dad at age 70 in 1994.

You can't beat the good old musicals

Our school does one every two years. Two years ago it was Fiddler on the Roof and that was fantastic. Before that Dolly and so it goes. I am not a consistent repper I try but hardly ever use all 20. I need to get into gear I guess to boost my rep power. TA DA. Like popeye eating spinach. lol Have a good day it is a bit cloudy today. I get to take my student on a mini field trip to cost price recipes for his groups food studies project. Jan
