  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am grateful to have passed through a storm these last few days when those old emotional triggers fired off in me and the old negative ways tried very hard to have their way. I am grateful today that my coping skills have triumphed and in a relatively short time.

Thanks for prayers, blessings and the friendship of good buddies.

Hi once again I just wanted to post a quick update here. I am off to church today yeah I didn't want to miss again like I had to last week due to hubbies late nite in ER. I am somewhat better still on A/B's but have low grade fever and pain which at the moment is not bad. Occaisionally I take some pain medicine. I am hoping to try to go back to work tomorrow but we shall see how I progress today. Thank you so much for all your love and prayers everyone. I am glad you are feeling more encouraged now Spring and that the cloud didn't linger long. Cheers. TTYL Jan

Amen!

Isn't God so good? Not only will we one day see Him, our Father, our beloved Father, but He also gives us each other.

I believe we see Him everytime we see a Christian love someone else.

Romans 5:5 "...because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

Hi Rita ~

Good morning, dear Spring!

That apple pie looks so good, Spring! Why don't we keep that for ourselves, and offer Mr. Straw Man more straw...or grass..or hay...or even a pillow or two?

:)

Dave, I hope you slept well. If you are seven hours ahead of me, then it was your time 2:28 AM when you posted. Of course you were tired!

Right now it is 7:20 AM Texas time (Central U.S. time). We are still trying to get used to the time change as we went back an hour Sunday morning. Even though this time change is in our favor--an extra hour of sleep, theoretically--I find it still throws me off.

Sometimes I wish we could do away with Daylight Savings Time. Or how about this for an idea--just stay on it all the time, as we did one year during President Carter's presidency...

Do you know, now that I look again
It might well have been 01.30 am
when I last-posted [above]

and yes having returned
from the 'Shopping City' Precinct around an hour ago
I DO feel, generally 'bushed' ie: not truly 100% 'myself'
and Mary also mentioned that she might
go to lie down for an hour

Perhaps we will....
having just had a hot drink and a couple of Ham 'Barm Cakes' each
[Soft Bread Rolls]

Seven hours behind us.... wow...
This means, that I could be fast-asleep
by the time you light-up your PC in the evenings

You mentioned elsewhere that my country resembles the Northeast of the United States

I have some [lots] of pics
taken going to and from Manchester
last year and this ie: prior to my final exodus
from Bristol

These include views from the buses used
of, countryside as seen from the motorways
between the cities

I am sure you would like to see some /many of those
sprawling green, cattle and sheep
so-many cars and trucks
roadside and roundabout planted gardens

I will look them out and post them via photobucket

My attachments here are presently around 80%
of total allowed
so I will have to begin erasing some
so as to create room for new attachments real-soon

Indeed as I mention this
I am thinking that perhaps I ought to use
Windows Movie-Maker to make a slideshow video
that I can then upload to photobucket
before posting a link here
in your 'gardens, flowers and trees' thread

bye for now Sis
I hope you had a good rest also

dave

You are so kind, Dave. I love the pics you posted on my "Gardens, Flowers, Trees" thread. When I "walk" through that thread I find it so lovely, and so relaxing. Thank you so much!

Yes, I think GB sounds like the northeastern U.S. There are many deciduous trees there, as well as grasslands and rolling country side. They also have the Appalachian range, which adds a lot of beauty. This range is older than the Rocky Mountains, and much eroded, so therefore not as high. It is lovely, especially in spring.

Here in the West we go to the Rocky Mountains to see awesome scenery. The Rockies are a lot like the Alps in shape, chiseled by the same freeze/thaw action that sharpens peaks. Also like the Alps, the Rockies were carved by glaciers, and the tell-tale U-shaped valleys can still be seen.

Well, onwards to Saturday...chores await--be back later!

Have a great day in the Lord, everyone!

It takes us a couple of weeks to really get used to the changes in the time here. I think we adjusted pretty well this year.

Yes, the apple pie certainly looked really delicious. I have made apple butter yesterday and am about to make apple cake. Maybe I will surprise everyone with home-made apple pie too. What does everyone prefer to serve with their apple pie? Cream, Ice-Cream or custard?

Blessings
