  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey folks, here's the latest photo of Tanner, my new grandson, as I showed him off in the village Friday.

Cheers,

Rev. Dr. Grandpa

Oh, Reverend Dr. Jim, he's so beautiful! So utterly beautiful! Thank you for showing us!

I want to pay tribute to one of the greatest singers of this or any generation, who died early this morning from pancreatic cancer; Luciano Pavarotti.

I cherish the memory of his singing in many genres. He was at home singing with his colleagues and he was at home singing with Bryan Adams. What a vocal genius.

Cheers, and thank you, Senor,

Jim

Yes, I had a hard time that day. It was so strange. I never was enamored with the Beatles or Elvis, or the Rolling Stones, etc. But for some reason I had a hard time when I heard that Luciano had passed away.

I grieved. I am still grieving. Funny how you don't know how deeply something will affect you.

Here he is again, folks....He is wearing a bonnet and blanket crocheted by a friend of Sheila's in Wales. This is the cradle I made just before he was born.

Cheers,

Jim

And thanks for all the fine comments...I am a little attached to him.

What a fine, handsome baby!
And lovely crochet work...
That cradle is handsome as well, Dr. Jim. You have a gift!

How good that we all can celebrate with you. Thank you for sharing!

We get to babysit one day a week, and this wek we get the pleasure of having him overnight on Saturday whilst daughter goes duck hunting. It is not a chore, but a blessing for us.

This is the mother who said that no one would get her baby for the first year, and barely a month has passed....lol.

Love it!

Cheers,

Jim
 aww what a blessing he is God bless Jim

I think new moms realize that to do the best job possible for the children some time for themselves is a must. My sister left at 5 am to drive 13 hours back home, my niece is off on the island to visit her dad and one son is on his way to Portland for a business trip. It is his first so he is excited and it is to cover soccer so it has to be all good right? Hubby has soccer coaching all day and then may head up the coast and stay overnight to help a friend with his cabin renovations. That will just leave three of us left at home so will make for a quiet day. I am looking forward to it although it was wonderful having my sister here as it had been about 3 years since we had seen each other. Jan

Wot's with the weird green????

Hello to the few who may enter here. I don't see much else to keep me.........

Cheerio,

Jim
It relates to the cross icon. If you notice under your log in name and stats there are a few other small thumbnails of other logos that can be chosen. I at the moment have the waves with a much more restful grey/blue colour for the lines and stuff. Variety is the spice of life I guess. Maybe these are the top 4 chosen or something. Jan
