WOW, Thanks for getting things back to normal and thanks for the notes of welcom.... Now I can tell you about what I was up to in my absence....I went on a silent retreat and it was just awesome experience....i fill so full of blessings for having done it. I was not at all sure I would be ok with four days of silence but it was wonderful. Tiny little exception...there was a group of ladies from one church together and they were not on silent retreat but in fact having meetings and some real fun fellowship. So they did not know that I was there on a silent retreat....and they kept talking to me.

Eventually the retreat master was gratious to find me a place in the back garden. WOW can you imagine that!!!!!!!!! Being all but a hermit here....it was just right for me. The rest of my time was very beneficial in prayer and worship. I feel so rejuvinated I might start dancing!!!!

Hey we're back Yoo HOO. spring I went to a place like that with our church board a few years ago. On Bowen Island. There was a silent retreat group there. we were just there for the day and kept away from them so we wouldn't disturb them. It is a nice place. Jan

Jan, It would be a retreat in paradise maybe, to go to Bowen. Horseshow Bay to Nanaimo is on top of my list of favorite places. I never took the ferry to Bowen. It is deffinitly a great place to appreciate the beauty of God's creation.

Adversity

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
So he invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first,the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon,
everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up
over the edge of the well and trotted off!

Moral: Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!
