Here is an announcement not yet too loud


all day yesterday
all night last night
all day today as well
and here to the second night
those that have packed-in will know where I am at
I have not been to buy myself any tobacco
AM TRYING TO GO WITHOUT
cold turkey is where I am at

am gonna make it

If'n you know what this amounts to
I would be obliged for all of your support
after a minimum 48 years of succumbing
it's going to be gone

My prayers and best wishes for complete deliverence go with you Dave. I have never regretted giving it up. Just wish my son could, but he is only one out of 4 sons who smokes so that is good. Jan

Dave, way to go!

I know what it feels like to break free, and it's great. I had a pack-a-day habit in high school. Then one day I asked what I was doing to myself, and gave it up cold turkey. Praise God I did!

I am so proud of you, Dave. Keep going! I will be praying for you.

I'm embarressed to say I smoked for almost forty years, starting very early to 'impress' this guy.
Last March 9th, I stopped cold turkey.
I won't lie and say I don't ever want one, but after washing all my stuff and getting the smell out of everything I own, I wouldn't trade the good feeling for the world. And I look forward to meeting great grandchildren during this life now.
Good luck Dave. Don't smoke. Walk the dog instead. Clean something instead. Read the Bible instead. Draw plans for a house to build with Mary instead. Then erase the plans and start all over.
If you can find happiness at this POINT in your life, notice I didn't say at this age!!, you can quit smoking and make this good part of your life last a lot longer!
I'm here for you.

Way to go Dave!!!! It takes a lot of courage to face something like that and be willing to give it up. May the Lord give you His supernatural strength! We are all pulling for you....and praying for you!

When I quit it was a process but when my hubby quit it was supernatural deliverance. He had tried many times and almost had a nervous breakdown each time. I think God was reassurring a baby Christian of His Presence or something anyway it was a cause to REJOICE and 30 years ago. Hallelujah Jan

Hey Dave good for you. I have a daughter that is a NURSE and knows all the damage it is doing to her body, and still keeps on. Her kids are now begging her to stop!! I know it is hard, I'm addicted to eating, almost as bad both bad for your body(over eat). Will be praying for you.

Good for you, Dave..I am sure it must be difficult. I have a pipe, but it only affects me when I put soapy water in it and have no one to blow bubbles at.
