Thanks Jim and everyone. Yes, I am still going to living room to check on her. The story is, she was rescued from an abusive home at 3 years of age and then came to live with us..I never did get around to adopting her out.....I didn't want to either.

When she came to us, she didn't understand a word of English. She came from a French home. I had to say everything to her in French. Eventually she caught on to English. Eventually she barked with a Cockney accent,,,lol.

Cheers, and God bless,

Jim

Hi everyone.

Well, our Great Dane of 14 years took a downturn in the night, and on the advice of veterinary, we had her put down this morning. She was totally paralyzed in the hind quarters...no way to live, but she is sadly missed already.

Cheers,

Jim
Jim,
I am so sorry to hear this.
I know how hard it is to lose a pet (part of the family). Our girly passed away 5 months after my mom did and it was so hard on the kids.

Hi everyone
Sorry I haven't been here for a couple of days.
I guess you could say I have been having a pity party.
Boy do I really need an attitude ajustment. I think it is just the stress of the Christmas season and then having some family problems.
I know that the Lord is listening to my heart and that everything will work out according to His will and in His time.
He does keep reminding me in suttle ways that I really don't have such bad problems. When I see how hard some people are having it at this time of year it makes me stop and say Thank you Lord for these tests that you have given me and thank you for showing me how to work out the problems.
It just seems that every Christmas we are hit with big bills and Christmas shopping at the same time. I know that is not what the Holiday is all about, but try telling that to children who want gifts under the tree.
I also feel bad because my hubby is so stressed. He is trying to find ways to make over time and to put the true meaning of Christmas in the house and he feels like he is failing at all of it.

Oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to rattle and prattle on.
I hope that you are all having a good day.
I will try to come back on later and be in a better mood.
God Bless
Lynn

Oh, it is always so hard to have to do that, but it was the kindest thing to do. We had to put our dear kitty down a few months ago. She had been a loving companion for almost 17 years but she couldn't go on without too much pain and could barely walk anymore. She had had special needs for over two years before this also.

I still miss her even though we have two others. She was so close to us and so loving.

God be praised for letting us have her as our fine feline companion all of those years.

Bless you and yours as you go on without your dear pet.

Go ahead and let it out! It clears the air and the mind to express the stresses, and I know that Christ understands too, He had a rather stress filled birthday too! As I recall!

On the positive side, it's great that you and hubby are trying to recognise the true meaning of Christmas and show those people around you. My only thought is, don't try so hard that you lose the Spirit of Peace in your own heart and life, find time to stop and wait (after all that is the true meaning of Advent - waiting on the Lord!).

Peace sister!

Pete

Let it all go Lynn. I know about loss to. My wife left me last week and I'm clueless. Christmas season is looking glum but Jesus is still my savior and that's my comfort. That and some beautifull grandkids.

Jim----sorry about your dog

Thanks for sharing with us, Lynn. Yes, this can be a very stressful time of year. :sigh:

May the Prince of Peace bring peace to you both.

Sorry it has been ages since I have posted in this thread. As I just respond to my own thread list this one hasn't been popping up. Also I have been busy with work, sick and prep for Christmas. I am doing much better now but it is a long lasting virus for sure. Sorry to hear of your troubles Rad nj and Jim. Rad that must make this time most difficult I hope you have a friendly listening ear( besides ours of course) to share and pray with. Nj my hubby gets quite Grinchie this time of year but eventually snaps out of it. Last year we tried theSkipping Christmas thing and it was ok (a trip to Mexico with all the family) but I am glad to be back enjoying the lights and fellowship. Thanks to my youngest son mostly who got us started by putting up all my outdoor lights, arranging the living room and putting lights up there. All I did was the tree. Jim sorry about your doggie. One of our Goldens is 14 and we know she is living on borrowed time. She is so sweet but getting quite dottery. We will love her to the end and beyond. I too thank all for their wonderful Guest book entries to me. I am like Jim and not up to snuff with the graphics etc. Much love and a prayer goes out to you all. Love gg.

Thanks guys/girls. Christ's comming is still paramount in my life and I glorify in His comming. He is my savior and nothing worldly will ever dampen the enthusiasm of His birth into the world.

Grief and loss can be a lesson because when someone leaves, you know who is REALLY there for you allways. He is allways the one who is left when others forsake you so He should allways be first.

He is my strength and salvation.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not lack,,,,I like that. The word "want" is lacking in the text. I shall not lack. It is all inclusive in His bountiful love and grace. No matter what the world will throw at us, "I shall not lack..."

We do not have to be lost to have the Shepherds love and care. He is always there.

As followers of this Shepherd, we are compelled by His love to also be available in time of need. Our prayers continue as does our abiding fellowship.

Cheers,

Jim

And good morning to all.
