You’re right about that, Kevin. She’s slightly over five months now, getting big and a rascal.

We’ve had snow here for the last couple of days. It has thawed now, but there’s more to come next week.

At the grocery store the clerk gave me a seniors discount. That was a first for me. I guess i must look tired. She didn't even ask me my age. . .

I'm over 65 and happy to take the senior discount.

A very gentlemanly railway ticket salesman said to me "And when will you be 60 madam?", which I thought was a lovely way to establish whether or not I was eligible for senior's discount.

The grocery used to have the senior discount day for people age 60 and over. Then they stopped having the senior discount. I was glad; they do have good sales, coupons and discounts. It is good to have discounts at restaurants for over age 60. One of the hair salons has senior discounts at age 65, so that made me feel a little younger; two more years until age 65. There are benefits for over age 50 or 60, restaurant discounts, travel and hotel discounts.

We have free prescriptions and bus travel (except in morning rush hour) for 60+. (Paid for through taxation of course.) Also one of our DIY stores has a 10% off day on Wednesdays. I'm sure there are other things too. I think it's rather nice.

I also have a B&Q gold card for senior citizens day
at any B&Q store
on Wednesdays
and, if I don't feel up to making the 400 yards walk to the chemist's outlet
BOOTS and the 400 yards return journey [for my monthly Med's]
I need only give them a phone call and they will have it delivered (for free)
~provided, I call before 1.00pm
Only twice (so far) right before and then after, my surgery, last February

Hi! I'll be turning 50 in April. I am SO excited!! Not really. Actually, when I look at the big picture it's not so bad. After all, I am getting closer to ending the chapter of life here in this crazy planet and preparing for the new Kingdom. Nothing wrong with that! Turning 50 is definitely an eye opener because it reminds me that there's no escaping getting older. I will accept it humbly and pray for health and longevity but I am not going to dwell on a number. As long as I feel good and as I grow older avoid the suffering of a deteriorating body I'm fine with that. The most important thing to me as I age is remaining healthy! So far...so good.

Back when I was 50, I thought that days would now be short
but, since then, I have become Grandfather 'how-many times'
I met my lovely Mary (and got engaged AGAIN)
and now I am through 70 and, have no end in sight \o/

I'll be 69 in April and I've had my ups and downs with health, but I give thanks. God has provided good doctors for my needs.

I'm enjoying being older, but that is from 60+ rather than 50 (but that was due to personal circumstances not the age). I hope you enjoy your 50s CoolDude - it seems very young from where I'm standing.

I've never had negative feelings about aging, and I have to say, the way the world is today, I'm very glad I'm older. I can't imagine navigating what younger folks have to deal with. The distractions and temptations today are overwhelming.
