Hi,

Hope Christmas went well for everyone. We were just ourselves - 6 - and had a nice time together. It's not often we're all together. In the morning we attended a Christmas service at our church, after which we shared and opened Secret Santa presents. Dinner was served at about 3 pm and other presents shared at about 6. We were full up after our main course at dinner time, so had our Christmas pud later on in the evening.

Wishing you all a much-blessed New Year!

Hi Dave and everyone else,

Where has today gone? Of course, it didn't help having a bit of a lie-in lol. Just the usual household chores this morning and in the afternoon a visit to the doctor with my daughter, followed by a trip to the supermarket. When we got back my youngest son had already started to cook the tea.

How's everyone doing these days?

Hi, I am Bonni. Just wanted to drop in and say hi to the other 50 and over member here. I was born and raised and lived my entire live in a Northern Suburb of Philly until last Summer when I took a Principal's job at an Elementary School in Northern Vermont. A pretty quick and drastic move, but I prayed on it for weeks and it felt like God was leading me there. I have now been in my job for almost my 1st complete year and am loving it. I have just fount the Church I feel God is leading me to and just starting to meet a few of the people there. I am here on this forum to meet Christians for fellowship and fun.

Hi Gillian

How is Ireland Life these days :)

Yeah, we are pretty good here in Manchester UK
what, with the weather getting milder
we might soon be able to bring the garden 'up to scratch'
Bluebells should bloom outside shortly, and all of the rose-bushes
have survived the winter frosts

Mary, has just two further treatments in this, her third-course {chemo} remaining
She appears to be doing well, with widespread reductions
and one 'secondary' tumour [mestastasie] having disappeared altogether

I have a consultant's appointment up-and-coming, where we will discuss
my recent Full Lung Function test and the subsequent CT Scan
The consultant has 'taken the liberty' of, making me a Respiratory Physiotherapy appointment, but, we will see how that goes

Hi Bon Bon

Welcome, Bon Bon.

Hi Dave, good for you keeping your garden in shape in spite of all the ongoing health issues you and Mary are facing. I am terrible about gardening - there always seems to be so much to do in the house. That's great news about the secondary tumour disappearing.

As my mother used to say in her letters to me when I was away at university, 'life goes on apace'. We are down to one car now, having been a two-car family for about thirty years. David and I are coping not too badly with the sharing, but the three family members currently living with us are not so happy, especially because they don't drive and probably couldn't afford a car even if they could drive. Our daughter is still living with us but is now getting help with finding somewhere to rent. She hopes to move in with one of her younger brothers.

Hope all the 'Golden Eagles' are well and feeling blessed.

Gillian
