Update on Mary

Early this-afternoon., we attended the Christie's Hospital
for Mary's review

We learned that Mary's 'bad-experience' ~following her 'second' infusion
was doubtless, caused, by her having taken chemo tablets since the first infusion
such, that the second infusion was 'too-much' of a body shock [for her]
~on top of the accumulated chemo level, in her body [maintained by the tablets in the interim] ~between 'cycles'

New instructions, received-today, are:
to discontinue chemo tablets, until after the next infusion
as today's blood tests
show, that Mary's white cell count
is way-below the amount she needs, to maintain her immune system
It is 'hoped' that this deficiency, will be replenished
in time for, the next infusion appointment, and, if not....
then Mary will receive, either a lower dose of chemo,
OR, have the infusion suspended
until, adequate white cell count has been established

Mary was advised to call the 'Christie's Hospital Hotline' should she feel 'ill'
~have a higher or lower than 'normal' temperature reading
as, Antibiotics, will then be administered
to bolster, her compromised immune-system

As I mentioned [previously] Mary is eating 'normally'
and, is no-longer, being made to feel 'nauseous'
and her food, is 'staying down' \o/

I do apologize, that my reports are [always] retrospective
but I do not wish [for security-reasons]
to ADVERTISE, our absence from home [in-advance]
These forums are PUBLIC
Thank you again for your prayers

Thanks for the update, prayers are being said. It actually seems like all is going as "normal" for most chemo patients. I am sure glad that she is able to eat, that should help her a lot.

I understand Dave....I don't like to mention I will be gone either in a public place....we just had unusual activity again on our street this past weekend....and someone rang the doorbell unexpectedly after dark last week...I did not open the door....then saw from the window a young man walk away...our neighbors will always let us know who is at the door.

I pray Mary will bounce back from the meds...especially if she is eating better.

Thank you Susie Sis'
Our friend 'Kathleen' [chemo patient, this past 'ten years']
has had, her 'last' four# treatments postponed, for THREE MONTHS
to allow her platelets and white cell count to rise higher
Kathleen, is 'way-ahead' of Mary and is a shining example of someone determined
to come out on the 'other-side' of her valley
Praise The Lord \o/
for she has encouraged Mary, in so-many ways

We have an 'active' Home Watch scheme, in-operation, here
Strangers 'hanging-around', WILL BE WATCHED [when seen]
and Police will be called... even if, it turns out to be, a false-alarm

The contractor, ~that recently carried-out repairs and renovations [in our area]
has maintained the compound they erected, on a nearby car-park
[the one, upon which I pictured Mary and I [near some snowmen] in 2010] [?]
while, they complete works, in another area [?]

Well, a few days ago, I saw a young man [mid 20's] attempt
to climb into the compound [over, it's 10 feet high fencing]
so, I used a non-emergency phone number, [101] to alert Police
and was still on the phone to them
when, the guy returned, for yet another attempt to gain entry
The control-room despatched 2# cars and a van, to the site
but, as they approached, with sirens and lights blaring/blazing
the guy, seems to have 'gotten away' ~A silent-approach, might, have led to his apprehension

Yes, there are 'opportunists' on the lookout everywhere, these days
with many immigrants /migrant 'workers' working-hard, for 'EASY-MONEY'

There is the need, to be vigilant and to respect our gut-feelings, in all matters

Well, just wanted to post before I go to bed.

I need to let you folks know that for awhile I won't be here. I am going to see if not being on the computer so much helps to take away all the pain I am having in my neck, upper back and arms. I am on here way to much, LOL, it is addicting, but now, I am paying for it.

I also need to spend more time with hubby and my dogs, I just loose all track of time when I am on the computer and I need to get back to a more "normal" way of life, whatever that is, LOL.

I will miss you folks lots, but I need to do this, I will probably be back in a month or so, not really sure.

Take care everyone and hugs to all.

Go if you must go
Turn if you must turn away
Don’t cry a tear for me
Laugh if you can smile
Run if you’re walking away
Don’t cry a tear for me
Shout if you can speak
Sing if you mention my name
Don’t cry a tear for me
Low in the valley, stand in the wind and the rain
High on the mountain, see the sun shining again
Shout if you can speak
Sing when you mention my name
Don’t cry a tear for me
So go if you must go
Turn if you must turn away
Don’t cry a tear for me.

"If I should go"

Often Called - If I Should Die

If I should go before the rest of you
Break not a flower nor inscribe a stone
Nor when I'm gone speak in a Sunday voice
But be the usual selves that I have known
Weep if you must
Parting is hell
But life goes on
So sing as well.

:wave:Well, LOL, here I am again. I missed you folks so much. I read some of the posts that talked about me being gone, etc, I was so touched I almost cried. I have decided to just allocate time for here, I can not be away, I am addicted to you folks big time.

Steve is going to be gone all day at a big survey job, I stayed home with the dogs and to stay cool, it is HOT here, summer may be late in coming, but when it did, it came full-force.

Little Bella came through her spay surgery well, but, LOL, she was sure groogy that night. She has to wear what I call lamp shade collar so she won't lick or pull her stitches out, she hates it, but is getting use to it. I have to keep her calm, that is a major feat in itself. HeHe. Laddie always wants to play with her.

Well, on to check other threads, I feel like I have been gone forever, sure is good to be back. Love and hugs to all.:hug::hug::hug:

Gosh Dave, I am glad you did not feel the earthquake, we have them here all the time, I do NOT like them. I hope no one was badly injured.

Suzie, I am glad you are back.....((((((hugs)))))

I worked out in my yard again today...clearing a slope of lots of dead plants. The drought here is killing everything. I like this kind of work, but it will take me a long time to finish....I fill up one container, then must wait a week for the next garbage pick-up...it is about 2hours worth of work a week....just enough for my old self.
