Update on Mary
Early this-afternoon., we attended the Christie's Hospital
for Mary's review
We learned that Mary's 'bad-experience' ~following her 'second' infusion
was doubtless, caused, by her having taken chemo tablets since the first infusion
such, that the second infusion was 'too-much' of a body shock [for her]
~on top of the accumulated chemo level, in her body [maintained by the tablets in the interim] ~between 'cycles'
New instructions, received-today, are:
to discontinue chemo tablets, until after the next infusion
as today's blood tests
show, that Mary's white cell count
is way-below the amount she needs, to maintain her immune system
It is 'hoped' that this deficiency, will be replenished
in time for, the next infusion appointment, and, if not....
then Mary will receive, either a lower dose of chemo,
OR, have the infusion suspended
until, adequate white cell count has been established
Mary was advised to call the 'Christie's Hospital Hotline' should she feel 'ill'
~have a higher or lower than 'normal' temperature reading
as, Antibiotics, will then be administered
to bolster, her compromised immune-system
As I mentioned [previously] Mary is eating 'normally'
and, is no-longer, being made to feel 'nauseous'
and her food, is 'staying down'
\o/
I do apologize, that my reports are [always] retrospective
but I do not wish [for security-reasons]
to ADVERTISE, our absence from home [in-advance]
These forums are PUBLIC
Thank you again for your prayers
