Yes, the south of England, is having MORE THAN a fair share of, H2O

I have often wondered
'why' ?
~in these days, of water-shortages, they have not
dredged the rivers and streams that feed them
to enable them to carry more water away
'why' ?
they have not set up WATER MEADOWS, in the lower-lying areas
to ADD, to our dwindling arable land 'stock'
'why' ?
they haven't constructed 'reservoirs' to conserve more fresh-water

I know full well, that at times of full tides
excess run off will not get away to the sea
Therefore, I see sense
in containing the excess if, for no other-reason than to prevent
water-suppliers, extracting from sewerage contaminated water-courses

I have wondered too why the UK isn't doing more for the flooding there too....but maybe this is a recent weather problem.

We in So Cal have been funneling water from No Cal for years....everyone had water when we got the regular rains and snow packs.

I agree, the flight is long, I know from America, I thought it would never end, but then, I am not a fan of flying.

Well, I just got a call from my aunt. My uncle, who has been very ill for the last few months, just died, we talked for a long time, she told me that he went peacefully, but she was alone. However, the nurses, I understand, were awesome, they were crying and saying what a wonderful, sweet patient he had been, even though he was half in a coma at times, he still smiled at them and they would come in each day and give him a kiss on the forehead, very touching. One nurse told Nancy that he was in heaven now with his wings. He was suffering so much these last two weeks, he was a tall man, over six feet and very big boned, well, the poor thing when they last weighed him was only 118 pounds, I cry when I think of it, in fact, I am crying now, I wish I had been with her, but darn finances prevented it. He will be cremated. She has a terrific friend, she will be with her, she is so blessed, this lady is a true angel. Her name is Betty. His adult kids, who are in their 60's, did not show up, one said he could not face it, the other, I am not sure why, the grandkids did show up as soon as they heard he was not going to make it.

Please keep Nancy in your prayers, I know what she is going through, I went through it twice, once with mom and also with dad. I am crying myself.

Mary is just 77-78 lbs [at present]
following a couple of days of diarrhea post-treatment

I 'sent' Mary the 'red one' and, I received the other from Mary

O it is Valentine's Day....we have never done much for this day.

Hmmmmm......losing so much weight is a problem Dave. Huggggs for Mary.

We mark this 'day' with cards, sometimes, even ANONYMOUSLY



Yes, Mary's weight-loss, concerns her very much
and she is making a valiant effort to eat as often as she can, to reverse this trend
It would indeed cheer her [immensely] to see her weight, creeping back on

We must do what we can with what we have

Quiet here as usual....I hope to go to the late church service...

Yep....I had a good day....went to church at the 11:15 service....then made some stops on the way home....I was shakey and tired when I got home, but it felt good to be out of the house. If I can start some short walks this week I will get some strength back.

How is Mary doing?

My dear friend Phyllis is having a lot of complications with her health right now....a needed surgery has been postponed....she either has pneumonia or a mass in her lungs....o boy, such obscure medical practices....it will take a while to determine what is really going on with her.

Mary has her 'review' coming-up
We will learn 'more' then

On the UP 'side', she is, eating virtually NORMALLY ...
albeit smaller portions _tummy shrinkage [from not-eating] is quickly 'FULL'
AND nausea, seems to be a thing 'of the past' \o/

This, must mean that some shrinkage of the tumour [at bottom of the esophagus]
MUST have taken place, ~to allow passage of, 'chewed food' \o/

It will be some 12 weeks, until all of her treatments are complete [4 # more]
and another CT scan is taken of her tummy and digestive system

Yes, This is good news for Mary....should help her get thru those treatments. You are a good coach Dave.

Yes, Phyllis is in a difficult place; she needs a surgery...if no surgery her condition will get worse and probably hurry the end. There are not many good choices here. She is 71. Your prayers are very welcome.
