I'm sad to read what Mary has to go through
and at the same time I'm inspired to tears at what a fighter she is!
Keep on keeping on, Mary,
you are truly an inspiration to me!![]()
You are both continually in my prayers!![]()

You both are always in my prayers and thought.Update on Mary
Oh what a day... was Mary's latest [2nd] chemo infusion
I should start by explaining, just how it could so-easily, have been a whole lot worse
and yet, we are home and Mary is 'still here'
As the chemo was finished up, the nurse set up a glucose drip "to flush the vein"
~to ensure the chemo was well and truly out of the vein and in-circulation
When then, Mary's asthma was triggered and so a doctor was sent for
~to check her out
Mary found it hard to inhale and felt her legs were unresponsive [weakened]
We eventually left the hospital and in the car
Mary used her courtesy mirror to examine her face
and determined that her eyes were saying just how tired she had become
There were several occasions on the way home,
when I wondered whether I should return her to the hospital
But Mary kept saying "just get me home"
We know, that the chemo affects the nerve endings
~makes them more-sensitive
consequently, messages to the brain are exaggerated ridiculously
and even a gasp of cold air can shut the larynx and make breathing difficult
This experience has Mary saying: "if it happens like this NEXT TIME I wont have it again"
Her previous asthma attack was in 1999 and she was in hospital for 3 days
~with the warmth of the infra red fire and a hot grain bag on her throat,
Mary was able to tell me, that she feels "a little better"
David and Maggie called [phone] three times [that night]to enquire 'how is she doing' ?
We will have-to wait and see
Now Saturday, and Mary appears to be more 'her old self'
Her legs still ache [but, not so bad]
Just FOUR more infusions to face up to
On the 'positive side' Mary is able to cope with 'more-solid' foods now
but still avoids, boiled potatoes, chips and, bread that hasn't been soaked, in soup

You both are always in my prayers and thought.
Gosh, what a strong lady Mary is, she is going through so much,
yet, she is fighting it, her strong will and your love and our Lord
is surly keeping her going.
Bless you both.![]()
