Hi Shirley Sis'

I have been struggling with the car a little lately
'she' starts when she wants to and will flatten the battery when she refuses

It's that Timing Belt /Alternator and, Timing Tensioner Unit problem I mentioned a while back
[will cost £150 /$225 to have resolved in the shop]
Ah well, 'she' started okay this morning and I managed
to get Joyce's dog 'Sonny' to the vet for his post-op exam > had to miss last weeks appointment
All done! all-clear and no further visit necessary

Joyce, continues to want to 'pay me' "for your trouble"
but so long as she contributes to fuel costs, I will not take money from her

I will get off shortly to make 'Tea'
Mary will have a bacon and tomato omelette and I will have spicy chicken [Madras] with thick fries

I have today completed the making of three tortoises [ceramics] in varying sizes [Family Group]
They will now be drying, in preparation for firing

A mild day here with very little breeze... temps were 12.C -13.C

Hello!

Hope all is going well with everyone, I have been thinking of everyone lots.

I am doing well. My year anniversary of living here was last week, and to be honest, I am feeling a lot more at home than I ever have since moving here. It is a good feeling. Oh sure, I will always love and miss America, but, I have turned my sights to here and since I have solidly made my mind up to like it here, it is working. I am now the "official" reader at church, any bible readings needed, they have me do them, it is a good feeling.

I have signed up for membership at 2 dog training clubs, the New Zealand Kennel Club, and the New Zealand Sheltie Club. Our obedience classes start next Tuesday. The first one, which was this past Tuesday was not for dogs, just the owners, it was an "orientation" to the club, how it is run, and what to expect, next week, Laddie and I start together. I think it will be a lot of fun. LOL, I told Steve, I hope that Laddie is not the class clown. He will be a little older than the rest, so,he might be more aggressive, but, I really doubt it. At the end of the 7 weeks session, he gets a diploma and then moves on to another level, we have "homework" each week. I am really looking forward to it.

Steve is doing well and has been kept busy with jobs, I go with him at times to help out and he is teaching me the book work as well.

I talked to my aunt in Shelton, her husband is not doing well, he had been diagnosed with Congestive heart failure a few months back, now, he has colon cancer, it does not look good, please keep him in your prayers.

It is Spring here and the trees are so pretty, however, a few nights back, we had very high winds, they actually blew one of my yard ornaments across the yard, since then, it has been cold and dreary. I am ready for warmer weather now.

Well, guess that is all for now. Need to do a few things. Take care and God bless.

O, this is such a good report...I get "homesick" when I go to see my son...6 hours away.... Your move around the world was a huge change...in many ways...but you sounds so much happier, good for you. ((((((hugs))))

I am now finally an "Official" New Zealand resident. Now, in two years, I can apply to be a "permanent" resident, in 5 years, a Citizen, I will always keep my American Citizenship as well however.

It is really super windy today, branches and tree flower buds flying all over the place, sort of chilly as well.

Everywhere you look are fallen-leaves and bits of twig
with much more remaining, and yet to fall


Winter is just around the corner for us
The chill northerlies, quickly makes the temps plummet ... brrrrrrrrrr!!!

My goodness...I have the windows open again here during the day...we cool off nicely at night. Still very, very dry.

I got a lot done inside today, hope I can move tomorrow...took a long walk and steamed some of my floors. :duh:

I like to get up early with my hubby...but then feel bad the rest of the day...tired, but too awake to nap...don't get much done when I feel like that.

But, the older we get, the more precious the time is to be together.

Caring, comes naturally enough, for me

But I too, can 'drop-off' ... for an hour or two in late afternoon / early evening
I must also respond to that 'calling' ~there is, no 'escape-route' available
The 'message' is clear, and defeat, is acknowledged

Maybe, I will be given the opportunity
to 'pass' while napping, when, comes, my turn
