Yes, Fall is on the way. New England is gorgeous this time of year. Enjoy!

Everyone have a great weekend.

It sure is and so is the Lake District as my family and I discovered last October!

Update on Andrea - she has pain in her leg from nerve damage following her surgery, but has learned to live with it - meds were making her drowsy. She is also on meds now for folate deficiency anaemia. Thanks to all who have been praying for her.

Very quiet here today. Was out this morning to buy a breakfast fry for hubby as I had forgotten to buy the wherewithal to cook it myself. Will probably go out again at some stage to buy some things at the supermarket.

Don't work too hard Shirley
But if you are on a roll and want to come do mine...be my guest :D
Love the pics, new avatar, and siggie

O, I just changed my avatar again....I have done my floors...what a job, I left the steamer out for a while so I can use it more often and not have so much to do at one time.
Now, please don't look at my windows...they seldom get cleaned.

In my 'capacity' ~as Neighborhood Watch Coordinator
I had a meeting outside my home this morning
with a local housing authority representative and
a representative of the Local Crime Prevention Initiative

We walked around our immediate neighborhood and discussed matters
such as litter, unsocial behavior, motorcycles and bicycles
being driven through the alleys [guineals]
street lighting being upgraded from yellow [sodium] > to 'white light'
dusk to dawn lighting ~beside our home
The crowning and cutting-back of trees and shrubs alongside the alley
and the prospect [feasibility] of gating, the pathway outside
in-effect 'closing' it, to all but, local residents

The Local Authority rep' advised me
that if I could, also encourage, present members of the local Neighborhood Watch
[to take part] in 'form, a community-group [tenants-association]
we could apply for financial-support, for community projects [in our area]
such as 'new' perimeter [property fencing] and even, the occasional street party :D
iow: whatever we felt could benefit the local area [fostering ...community spirit]

We will see how such things progress, over time

Anyway, I was encouraged by what I heard and will explain
those matters to our neighbors at the up and coming meeting [of the NW]

Hubby was surgically cured in July and his lymph nodes were all clear (PTL)!
He is doing very well now; thank you for your prayers

The Local Neighborhood Watch 'met' earlier this evening
at the local church [St. James]
Also attended, by the Local Housing Authority [rep]
and, two 'community' police officers

I described, to my neighbors, the 'matters' that were 'on the table' at-present
and especially, the proposal; that were we
to ALSO, become, a constituted tenants/ residents association
we would be able, to apply for government funding
to the benefit and strengthening of our local community ~to create and foster
stronger community ties and, a safer neighborhood

The police, supplied us with Home Watch window-stickers, that I will disperse, tomorrow
and also Neighborhood Watch badges for those that attend the meetings

I have another meeting arranged, with the Housing Rep and a 'Third Party'
on Wednesday *[Environmental Health Officer]
to continue, discussion, of several matters raised at the NW meeting tonight

Hello Everyone,

Sister Gail, I'm happy to hear the good news about your husband and answered prayers.

Brother Dave, I'm also glad to hear how well the NW is going for you. I'm sure you will do a great job. Here's an idea for you to get everyone involved:

Make a simple form for people to list their valuables and serial numbers of televisions, stereos, bicycles, etc. If they are ever stolen, the person can identify their property and get it back if the police recover it. You'd be surprised to find out how much recovered stolen property is never returned to rightful owners because of identification problems. This same property list would also be useful for losses in natural disasters.

Buy an engraver for a few dollars and loan it out for people to mark their property. This information would then be added to the property form above (i.e. the marking and where it is marked).

Thanks Tom Brother

We have already marked our property with smartwater
and posted warning stickers to our windows
~that says:
"all property in these premises have been marked with smartwater"

and, today, more stickers
~that says:
This property is protected, by Home Watch [neighborhood watch]
now, in-operation in this area

Ultra Violet Marker Pens, are on-order
with which we may identify our own property [individually] in case of theft

Good Idea, as regards the list of serial numbers
I will promulgate this advice, as I distribute the Home Watch Stickers ;)

I have an engraver here
but, I think many of my neighbours would have difficulty wielding it, effectively

Our main problems, are not that of burglary

They consist of; noisy [and littering] schoolchildren
~using the guineal/ginnel as a shortcut [to and from school] with their parents
and youths [boys and girls] and drunkards, using the cover of shrubbery as an open toilet

Also, it is regularly used, as a depository for fly-tipping of household refuse
and also as 'rat-runs' for criminals who have committed offences /crimes in other areas
so, to avoid police, searching for them

We are also finding soiled women's underwear and used condoms

Many drug dealers have been arrested in-possession there

Closing the guineal/ginnel with a gate [or, even permanently] would, without doubt
curtail /prevent, all of those inconveniences, in the one 'fell swoop'
The feasibility study will discover, if, any right of way exists
Who, [if anybody] would suffer inconvenience if it were to be closed [and, might object]
and also
if, the local authority can afford it's installation and related fencing upgrade

Wonderful News, Gail!:) Praise God!
:amen:

I am sorry if some of you missed that praise report; it was posted here, in the prayer thread, and on his thread.
(summer time is busy and easy to lose track)

Thanks again from us both ~ God bless you
