This day has been better, I was up at 5:30am, but missed seeing hubby before work.
Got sheets changed and laundry going, yards watered, Bible read...at least started, I will do more and may even nap. We have lots of good leftovers for dinner tonight.

The new little Prince George was christened today...congrats Dave to you UK folks. I love the British...much to be thankful for in Church terms.

The 'parents' seem very happy with the baby prince

We are going to attend a neighbour's funeral

'Laura' died unexpectedly [almost 90 years] last Friday
She was a very active lady of Italian extraction
and travelled extensively, holidaying around the world until last year
when, she was 'mugged' in the far east
It was then, that she came to realise, just how vulnerable she truly was

She has no family [apparently] only a couple of God-children in Italy somewhere

Seems he died at home with no one around, a neighbour found him, he died, they think, in his sleep.

Hubby and I have been busy with chores, hobbies, and enjoying the beautiful fall weather, now that a recent flare up of gout in his knee has eased (again caused by the surgery).
We have also redirected our time to prayer and spiritual reading, and so our time on the internet has been cut dramatically.

Dave, you have met and known some very interesting people...

I like the Prince William and his wife...it makes me smile to see them happy and building their family. They are doing a wonderful job of relating to the horrible pressure from the media. Still remember Diana fondly and how the press hounded her to death.

I felt a little out of sorts this-morning... it felt-like: Low Blood Sugar
So I ate a breakfast [ravenously] to pick myself up [quickly]... It worked!!!


At around 11.30pm last night.... Joyce's carers office called us to say
Joyce have pressed her neck pendant [set alarm]
but was failing to communicate via her loudspeaker phone
"Would you pop around there and see what's up ?"

Sheesh!!! this is a paid-for service [?]

When I got around there... I was able to walk straight in [Front door unlocked]
said 'hello' to Sonny and noted that Joyce was fast-asleep
while her pendant, was on the floor beside the bed
I guessed that Sonny had stood on it and raised the alarm with Joyce oblivious
to the hustle and bustle in her front room

It felt cold in the house, so I looked through the kitchen, to see the back door 'wide-open'

I called the carer office on Joyce's landline
and set them straight re: what I could see and understand from the alarm
While I was talking Joyce had woken up and asked why I was there so late
I had to wait while she inserted her hearing-aid, to say WHAT HAD HAPPENED

Anyway... all is well that ends well [as they say] and I locked the front door
on my way home

This woman needs to go into 'care'

Anybody could have walked in there ...
Sonny wouldn't give them a problem
He would be happy to see anyone

I will discuss this at the [highest level] at very next opportunity....

Hi, Dave, Shirley and all who pass through. I read here often, but not much happening to post about. My son is still with me and I'm glad, although I do pray he'll find a better job soon. It's been quite cold here for October, but it's supposed to warm up next week.

Joyce should not be living alone...
it is time for a change for her....

There are 'considerations'
#Sonny will not be able to accompany her
#How will Joyce manage without her dog
#Sonny would be 'better-off' with someone, who COULD
'care' for him, more actively
While looking for fresh bedding for Joyce's bed downstairs
after Sonny had a bout of diarrhea [post op]
Mary noticed that the wardrobe, was empty
[had been emptied of her dresses and coats]
and, that blankets and sheets could not be found in chests of drawers
[as Joyce had said]
We think she has been robbed... perhaps, by her carers
as she was convinced that the stuff should be there
[unable now to ascend stairs herself]

There was, that incident [months ago] when I took Joyce to her bank
so that she would have money available to pay for a new gas fire
only to be told by the bank that SOMEONE had used the card
to purchase a TV and other electrical goods [?]
Joyce seems to be a little FREE, with regard to whom she gives the card [and PIN]
If she needs some shopping and doesn't have the cash indoors
