I find 'comfort' to be found, in the knowledge, that God in His Perfect Majesty,
MUST HAVE allowed such things to occur
or-else, we simply would not experience them [?]

Therefore, whatever our circumstances, let us believe that 'His purpose'
is to enable our 'growth' ~and not, to bankrupt us /bring us low
:prayer:

I agree Dave, if I did not believe God was on the throne of our world, I would go crazy...

I just had-to speak my heart on Facebook
So many there, are bemoaning the news

One MUST, in-faith BELIEVE
that God, who has the power to prevent such things
actually, did not do so_ He ALLOWED it to occur [?]
He may certainly, be teaching humans [Americans] a 'lesson'

They have 'taken' a step too far...so-often
that 'resort to gun use'... is just so EASY for them

[?] They 'choose' to hunt 'GAME'...
Not, as a means of food acquisition / provisioning - but, for 'blood-lust'

On the other-hand, the stock-piling of guns amongst the people
might have some 'common-sense' behind it
if, the people feared, State use, of armed Militia, to control the people

Here, where public possession of firearms is strictly controlled
We see that criminals, are still ABLE to acquire them

Thankfully, there are strict regulations
which limit 'this', to the occasional gun crime [gang warfare]

Thank you Shirley

Mary 'agrees'
She likes it very much
I bought two balls of yarn from a local 'Pound Store' for, £1 each
total @ $3.oo [equiv']

It took me around 4.5 hours to complete
and another 1.5 hours to cut off the top
and increase it's length [top to bottom] to comply, with Mary's wish, to have it cover her ears
and then, to put 'the cap' back on it :)

Truthfully, she is 'amazed' at the 'product'

Nice job on the hat, Dave
~ I am impressed at your skill

Thank you Gail Sis'

I must thank my Mother, for teaching and encouraging-me
as a pre-teen...
I can also knit [follow a pattern] and 'cook' everything Mum ever cooked for our family

I honour her 'investment'

:prayer:

Ditto on the hat Dave! Interesting stitch you used, plus the way the hat has that kinda bubble in type of look for lack of a better way to say this----can't quite come up with the word to use---what do you call this type of hat Dave?

I crochet and knit too. Right now I am knitting a basket weave scarf.

Prayers to the victims of the CT shooting. I think we are all trying to make sense of this where there is no sense and no rational, spiritual and/or philosophical way to figure this out.

All I know is to pray. This is the only place I know to begin the process of coping with a situation of absolute madness.

I agree with everyone that the hat you have made is really excellent, dave! :)

Thank you Joyshirley Sis'

My Dad used to tell us:
"If you are going to do a job...do it 'well'"
&
"If you always, do 'your best', there is no way you could have done it any better"

Thank you Sunsong Sis,
I have a small 'toolbox' of, some 7-8 stitches
I am able to make small 'panels' and crochet chain them, together
I did, once upon a time make single-size throwovers for six children's beds
and also a double/king-sized throwover for a marital bed
For those, I used the largest stitch shown on the Bobble Hat

I did not follow any pattern
but, first, I crochet-chained a head band, which I tested around Mary's head
and eventually turned it up, on the outside
A BOBBLE-HAT, is a hat with one, or more 'bobbles' attached

It reminds me somewhat, of a beehive :p

Wow...I am even more impressed
Pretty Christmas pic too ~ God bless

We had a lovely start to the day ~ it is snowing lightly, so we bundled up and went for a walk.
Penny was in her pink hoodie and very excited :D

Sadly it won't last for Christmas; we have a warm up of sorts later this week, bringing rain

But we are enjoying it NOW

Have a blessed day in the Lord ~ my thoughts, prayers (and tears) are with the victims and their loved ones in Connecticut :crossrc:

Thank you Grandma

I was walking somewhat behind Mary and three of our neighbours
after an old folks Christmas Party [2010] at the local warden-controlled housing project

Mary, is in the middle of the threesome
and our home is directly ahead of them [at the end of the car park]

I have some further images ~taken, around the same date [I will look them out ]

I love sitting in my window and watching it snow at night.
My neighbor's night light provides the light to see the snow by.
When I was younger, I used to love walking in the snow at night.

Me too!

I have some of Mary catching snowflakes in her mouth [somewhere ]
:D

Oh yes, that too!
I love the night sky and sounds anyway....and when it is snowing, it is even lovelier.
We are surrounded by forests, so it is very quiet usually...except for the coyotes, crickets, tree frogs, or owls ;)

Nice e-card, Dave.

Tomorrow Tim and I are going to the mall. This is about the latest I've been at doing my little dab of shopping. Tim would prefer surprise, but I would prefer no returns. May just get gift cards for other son, unless I find something I feel sure of. Thanks to my church for giving me help to gift. Since the boys are grown, I wasn't sure.
Compared to many, they've had little. But, they are grateful because compared to some, they've had much. And in motherly love, they were/are rich.

It seems too early to wish you all a wonderful Christmas. It's still a week away.

Regarding the shooting, no words can express my heartfelt sorrow. The day in 2008 when those Amish school children were shot, I knew it could happen anywhere. God, have mercy.

I am enjoying the season of Christmas...in Him for sure...there have already been shootings and deaths scattered around the country since Friday's massacre...makes one wonder about going anywhere...but crime came right to my home last summer.
