I will be grateful for this day;
God, for life itself, air to breathe, my health, my family, food, sunshine, rain, love, my senses,
my home, my freedom, my friends, kindness, memories, laughter and hugs. So much to be grateful for ♥
:amen:

I will be out doing errands for a bit, and getting a walk in with hubby and Penny after lunch ~ bbl

Have a blessed day

I am having trouble getting in the holiday mood. I have up my tree and I am thankful I even have one, but with one son 250 miles away, my youngest boy in prison, and my daughter in another state, it is hard to get excited about the holidays. My son-in-law and grandson will have dinner with me, but then visit friends. My oldest son always goes to his wife's family.

I think I am having a pity party. I need to get my Bible out and read what this holiday is about. I really don't have anything to feel blue about, the Lord will be with me.

My broken ribs are talking to me tonight and it is hard to lay down and sleep... that depresses me. Yuck! I know the Lord will help me through. I am going to say good night and spend this quite time with my best friend.:prayer:

My heart goes out to you, grandma. I don't recall the last time I was in a holiday mood, but this year I'm not even going through the motions. I enjoy the music in small doses and the time to give more reflection to Jesus' birth. Not all of us have big families or cheerful circumstances. I'm finally okay with that. Praying that you're blessed with the Lord's presence in a special way.:prayer::hug:

My family and I have decided to skip gifts this year, apart from a few presents for our little grandson. I feel a bit sad about it, even though it was my own suggestion, as I'm so used to getting a gift for each of our children. But money is a bit tight so we all agreed this would be better. We will have Christmas lunch together and then all our kids will head off to their 'other-half's' parents' places for Christmas dinner. Some of us will attend a service on Christmas Eve and perhaps one on Christmas Day itself - not sure yet.

God bless those of you who won't have all your family with you on Christmas Day. We are blessed to have all our children nearby and I am very grateful for that.

It is always harder when you don't feel well  and difficult to adjust when the kids go different ways for a holiday!

Praying that you will feel much better by Christmas, and that your day (and all our GE friends) will be blessed

Hello Sister Eva,

You and your family will be in my prayers.

Luke 2:4-20 (KJV) 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had seen [it], they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard [it] wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered [them] in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Hello there newbie...Christmas is very different as we age...we will be just the 2 of us this year...I hhave a church to go to tho and will attend the extra services. I have a nice fake tree that I purchased for a bargain...took off the lights it came with and now am putting on something else. Can't say I am in the mood for this, but hubby likes the lights.

I think I get the real Chrsitmas Spirit all year long...this commercial Xmas just doesn't do a thing for me.

It is nice to be with someone tho...a very hard day to spend alone.

As we age I think we are more prone to hurt a bit more easily and can feel down, especially if we are in a lot!

Personally I must pace myself, get rest as needed, and also get out in fresh air daily to keep moving, lessen the aches and pains, and lift my spirits :)

 Praying you feel better

I don't expect to be alone; just very low-key holidays. Shirley, from listening to a couple very "busy" friends and some relatives, much of life is made up of nothings that give the illusion of accomplishment. I think, however, it beats having too much time with nothing to do to create the facade of being busy and important. :)

I owe everyone an apology. I hate pity parties. A good friend that lives alone and her teenage son are coming for dinner. My children are alive and healthy so I have much to thank God for. :amen:

I took a short walk at sundown and watched a beautiful sunset and I couldn't help but think of how awesome, powerful, and mighty our Lord is. He made this beautiful world for me to live in and the stars that were coming out. He gave his Son as a sacrifice for me. What did I have to whine about???

Penny's full coat would be much harder to care for than my Grcie's, she is very easy.

I may not be getting out enough...just can't seem to stick to anything lately.
