This won't be as bad as the ice storm that hit us @ 4 years ago; we had no power for over a week (some 2+weeks).
It is still somewhat warm here...back then it was mid winter; cold food storage would be the biggest issue, as we thankfully have a wood stove to heat the house if needed.

I see that a huge number of people around New Yirk are to be evacuated....wow!!!!

Wind damage is a big deal...we know what that is here.

Yes, I read that those things are a huge concern too. I hope you don't lose power. It can be very tiresome when that happens. I will pray that you ones don't suffer any wind damage at all.

NYC and NJ are taking a direct hit; at least MA will be spared that, though as I said....coastal areas could sustain major damages.

The wind and rain is increasing here; I just got my shower in, and did my dishes/laundry in case we lose power.
Now we are just hunkering down and waiting the storm out
I am happy I didn't get to wash all my windows they will be a mess after the storm

They just updated the rain totals to 4-5in where I am, so lowland areas could have flooding/street erosion

Connecticut and Rhode Island are also being inundated ~ Lord, have mercy

Blizzard warnings for West Virginia, my home state!

We're cold, overcast and windy. Tomorrow will be worse for us, but they assured us nothing like Ike was. My heart goes out to those who are on the east coast.

Last year we had the 2 feet of snow on Halloween, that WV is getting this week

This is an incredible storm...I am glad to see you both are posting...and are safe thus far.

I have been busy and then tired...and when busy, sometimes in more pain. Got a few errands done today...now for some quieter days, unless something happens...we felt an earthquke in Paso a few days ago...and a big earthquke hit up off the western coast of BC...since then...the one near BC was 7.7...that is a big shake.

The only thing really certain in life is our God...HE IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. We praise Him according to His greatness.

We just got in from a nice walk, I cleared the walks and driveway of debris, and we are having lunch.
It is so warm and humid here...very weird seeing that a year ago tomorrow, we had 2 FEET of SNOW!
We saw that a couple neighbors had big trees down; one across the penninsula from us had it land on his roof...not sure if it caused damage.
Aside from that, the mile we walked was messy but there was just a 2 hour school start delay, and the mail came through just fine.
We won't be going out anyway until tomorrow or Thursday to get a flu vax and food shopping.

Gail, I'm so glad for you and also other internet friends near Boston. We haven't lost power either, thank God, but it is windy, cold and spitting rain. Beggers night was moved to Nov. 3. Some folks in our area did lose power.

Great news - I'm happy to hear about all of the answered prayers. Those still in distress will continue to be in my prayers. If I understand correctly, power outages and flooding were and are two major problems. I've heard news stories about convoys of power trucks headed East, so I hope that many get their power back on soon.
