Hello dear ones, just stopping by to let you know that I have not forgotten you.

I just returned from a marvelous, 7 day train trip across America, it was awesome, I had never been on a train before, now, I am hooked, you meet so many neat folks and become like a "family" The scenary was awesome, food great, but, LOL at times, the ride so bumpy I thought we would derail, I later discovered that that was "normal" so, I calmed down. I highly recommend train travel to all who want to see the country, it is so worth it.

I hope all are doing well, I am tired, still have not caught up with rest, but, have things to do.

Hello to all, will try to post more later.

Hugs
Susie
Happy to hear it...just take it slow ;)
Praying for your light, grace and blessing

^_^ I live on a lake, surrounded by forests for miles.
It IS beautiful country in all 4 seasons with Fall foliage, Winter snow, Spring blooms, summer on the water
The is a LOT of wildlife here that we see on a regular basis!
*click on a link if you are not familiar with the species.
**The seals, whales etc are at the coast (1.5 hours from me)
***In the 'cat' family we do NOT see mountain lions or lynx here.

It sounds like a dream home in retirement. Of course, my dream would be a milder climate, but not in path of hurricanes or wild fires. Of course, there there's the threat of tornadoes, ice or snow storms.
I can kind of imagine the wildlife, because I had relatives in the mountains of WV. In fact, I spent my pre-school years and two to three weeks per summer there. No bears, but foxes , wolves and cyotes were common. Copperheads, too.

We don't wolves or venomous snakes here.... except for the timber rattler....which we have seen only ONCE 30 years ago when we first moved here.
Hopefully we can live out our days here; may God's will be done

So, you've lived there for a long time. It still sounds like choice property.

Except for an occasional fox or copperhead, wildlife stayed in the mountains, but I remember hearing howling from the front porch at night.

It is a modest house (small 6 room ranch) , on a very nice piece of property; just a couple of acres :)
We are on a back lot.... set on a hill that overlooks the lake.
Years ago we bought property on one side of us for privacy; the rest is conservation land for MILES.
The lake community homes are built very close to one another, so we made a very good choice in making a move when the land next to us went up for sale.
The Lord has blessed us; we came from a city with growing crime and the houses on top of one another (you could pass pans to one another out the pantry windows we were so close...really!!) ^_^

That's about how close I am to my neighbor. I live on the end. My other neighbor is the back side of Muffler Bros.

But, it's my house, built to accommodate my wheelchair. So, I'm grateful.:)
Thank God for that; I am happy for you :)
It is a real blessing to have your own home in this economy

So it is....and my home is on a hill, we have one half street to our east, then the hilly mountain...I used to ride my horses up there...soooo. I am not living a a usuall tract house neighborhood...it is special to us....but I wish now we had purchased property along the central coast years ago; it is very expensive to get in there now.

I absolutely loved trains as a wee one. My mother and I travelled from southwestern WV to Baltimore, MD several times via train. The new ones, of course, are faster, but we have none around here.

I have never thought about using a train before...we are always on the freeway.

I did ride in the bullet train in Japan...what a ride....very fast, very quiet, very comfortable.

I spent most of the morning in church...yes me...first went to a class to hear teaching about the Nicene Creed...then went to service. Now for down time with football...The Packers are playing San Francisco/should be an interesting game.

:wave:Hi folks. I didn't have a ride to church this morning. I feel lazy today. I watched a Hallmark movie. My aide is here now, making lasagna and peanutbutter chicken stir-fry to freeze for when Tim comes. I have one aide who prefers cleaning and one who likes to cook, so it works.

Have a good evening.
