Slow day here, too. My neighbor blasted music for about 18 hours, ending at 6am. I was livid. A close friend went over and said I'm trying to resolve it without the police, but if it happens again, I will file a complaint. I think the house sold for next to nothing; it had been a duplex rental property before that. I've lived here for 17 years and have only had noise problems one other time.

I'm pretty tolerant, but party or not, no one should keep neighbors awake all night. I even tried going to another room, but the bass still vibrated the room. The houses are very close together because it's an old neighborhood.
So, I've been cat napping a lot today. Haven't really eaten yet either.
 That is terrible!
Isn't there a noise ordinance where you are (like no noise after 11 pm)?
You have every right to call police!
Praying for your peace:hug:
I've had both potato rolls and potato bread. They are like an airy white bread to me.
The dinner did sound yummy, Gail.
Go eat

This sounds really bad...I am surprised the police were not involved.

Having a slow day here...I went to the SS office and my new card should arrive in about 2 weeks....it is still fairly hot, dry and a fire is burning in the San Gabriel mountains...that is pretty far away from me, but fire is not friendly, the embers blow every where.

If this link stays good...there are some dramatic pictures here....

Continued prayers for all those in harms way :crossrc:

Well, I read in the kitchen until quite late. I then kept thinking that surely it would stop soon, probably before the police arrived. But, obviously, it didn't stop. Also, since he's not just a tenant, I hate to start off with bad feelings between a new homeowner and myself. He can't just continue disrespecting me and infringing on my comfort in my own home, however.

I slept in peace last night. My son and I saw other people move in, so we don't really know how many live there with him. They aren't related to him...we do know that.

Either my reply was censored [from above]
or, CF had a hiccup/hiccough [?] but my rather lengthy reply, was 'lost'
So, I left rep-comments [instead]

Keep a diary of 'events' [complete with details, that are also, timed and dated]
Anti-social people and their behaviour can, be legally handled
If you, are the only person affected, you still have statutory rights
but, if, several others are adversely affected
then group-complaints will work better when, co-ordinated
and presented via a spokesperson [solicitor/representative]

Over here, the playing of 'loud music' is also termed "broadcasting"
~for which 'a performing-rights licence' is required
In the absence of such a licence, FINES may apply and also
the confiscation of the broadcasting equipment is also very likely

Good morning, angel. :) It's very early Friday morning here in NZ. 12.43 am, it says on my laptop's clock. I hope you have a really good day. :)

Same to you JoyShirley....I have been told by neighbors to watch out for coyotes and "big" cats lurking in our hills... coming down into the chicken pens...I am going to get a can of mace to carry on my walks.

Best to avoid walks at dawn and dusk especially ......when they are more active!
Though people have had trouble in surrounding areas here even during the day, when their kits are little.
Bob cats are now a more frequent sight here as well; I am sure you have those plus mountain lions! :o
That is a bit more wildlife than I am comfortable with; I do have my limits :D

We need a firearm ID to carry pepper spray/mace here
I used to have it before the regs changed when I was a visiting nurse in town; now I won't waste my $
I carry a mini air horn with me when I am alone....hubby carries bear spray when we walk in the woods.
He must have the ID because he owns a shotgun from when he used to hunt.

Be safe

Will mace work on wild animals?

I have errands to run this afternoon; then starting a new book. I've been on a reading binge lately.

Welcome, JoyShirley. I'm Marsha. :)

Gail and Shirley, maybe I don't like where I live, but I definitely wouldn't like the possibility of encountering lions and tigers and bears on my "walks"...oh, my! :) Not even a bobcat.

ROFLOL ^_^ I hear you!

We are very aware, and usually they run from us; most are not even seen when we are walking in the woods!

Our occasional sightings of bear have been in our back yard at dusk (spring and fall), and we have been in the house.

On our excursions we have seen moose, deer, fox and coyote...all keeping distance from us.
*Come Fall, we are watchful for moose and deer in rut; they can get crabby and charge you

In the yard, we are always vigilant when we put Penny out, and take care to take precautions with rubbish storage, close windows at night etc.

The biggest threat these days has been the SKUNK from a new litter :o he is a brazen little stinker :p but is finally starting to show respect and move along when we go out.

I am a nature nut and love it all; it is so amazing to see these creatures!
Most live among us respectfully..... if we do the same

Enjoy your day

Over here in NZ, we have no wild animals prowling round anywhere. I can hardly imagine what you ones are talking about and it all sounds rather scary to me. :sorry: :D I'm glad you know how to take care of yourselves when out walking, and when it comes to protecting your homes. Your place sounds almost idyllic, Gail, from what you've written here and there. :)

Hello dear ones, just stopping by to let you know that I have not forgotten you.

I just returned from a marvelous, 7 day train trip across America, it was awesome, I had never been on a train before, now, I am hooked, you meet so many neat folks and become like a "family" The scenary was awesome, food great, but, LOL at times, the ride so bumpy I thought we would derail, I later discovered that that was "normal" so, I calmed down. I highly recommend train travel to all who want to see the country, it is so worth it.

I hope all are doing well, I am tired, still have not caught up with rest, but, have things to do.

Hello to all, will try to post more later.

Hugs
Susie

^_^ I live on a lake, surrounded by forests for miles.
It IS beautiful country in all 4 seasons with Fall foliage, Winter snow, Spring blooms, summer on the water
The is a LOT of wildlife here that we see on a regular basis!
*click on a link if you are not familiar with the species.
**The seals, whales etc are at the coast (1.5 hours from me)
***In the 'cat' family we do NOT see mountain lions or lynx here.
