We are having a relaxing day today....slow to start, then a nice ride to my son's for dinner later this afternoon

He and Holly are very nice to visit;he is a pretty decent cook like his Dad, and she shares Hubby's passion for painting
We just got back from a lovely walk; it is sunny, breezy, and very comfortable @ 70
Time to freshen up and prepare the salad we are bringing (from our garden).

A Nativity Scene was erected in a church yard.
During the night, someone came across this.
An abandoned dog was looking for a comfortable, protected place to sleep.
He chose baby Jesus as his comfort.
No one had the heart to send him away so he was there all night.
We should all have the good sense of this dog and curl up in Jesus' lap from time to time.
This is too sweet not to share.
No one mentioned that the dog breed is a "shepherd!"

He made a yummy 'pulled pork' in potato rolls (I had never had it); we also had potato salad and our garden salad.
For dessert we brought a caramel apple danish.
It was all so delicious (tomorrow we are all back on our diets )

Sounds really good... I had eaten such pork before

It was very tasty; he cooked it in a crock pot with onions and gingerale (??) for 12 hours, the drained the liquid,
kept the onions and added BBQ sauce, then cooked it for another 5 hours.

The potato roll is actually a sandwich bread made with potato.
It was surprisingly very light and very tasty

Boy, you all ate very well...food is fun!!!!

It is fun to try new things, and it made a nice change from burgers and hot dogs for sure

It was a yummy meal

Not much happening here today....
It is rainy (the remnants of Isaac connecting with a front), so we are just vegging.
I spent the morning setting up health check appointments for Penny and I.

Having a slow day here...I went to the SS office and my new card should arrive in about 2 weeks....it is still fairly hot, dry and a fire is burning in the San Gabriel mountains...that is pretty far away from me, but fire is not friendly, the embers blow every where.

Slow day here, too. My neighbor blasted music for about 18 hours, ending at 6am. I was livid. A close friend went over and said I'm trying to resolve it without the police, but if it happens again, I will file a complaint. I think the house sold for next to nothing; it had been a duplex rental property before that. I've lived here for 17 years and have only had noise problems one other time.

I'm pretty tolerant, but party or not, no one should keep neighbors awake all night. I even tried going to another room, but the bass still vibrated the room. The houses are very close together because it's an old neighborhood.
So, I've been cat napping a lot today. Haven't really eaten yet either.

I've had both potato rolls and potato bread. They are like an airy white bread to me.
The dinner did sound yummy, Gail.
