You sort of have a fascinating life, or your ability to describe your life is interesting....I mean that in a friendly way. But, I have learned to keep quiet about myself to lots of people...usually they want to talk about themselves mostly and have me listen.

Shirley, how do you manage to keep quiet?... it get questioned repeatedly by everyone I meet. I get asked leading questions and I feel investigated all the time... drives me to stay home and be alone sometimes cause I just want my privacy... this last girl just won't stop... I have a male friend who is always encouraging me to make female friends but every time I try this happens.....he gets so excited for me when I make a new girlfriend too. lol... I'm about to back off completely from this new friend I have made just because she won't let me have my privacy. When is your birthday? can I throw you a party? why won't your son come? but it's your 50th??? do you have a boyfriend? Is there a man in your life? Can I meet him? Who are your other friends? what kind of man do you like?. Who are your friends at work?.. on and on and on.....

lol that very conversation above is so different than what women traditionally want to talk about... they get together and discuss their kids or a recipe or their husbands .... at church functions they make over each other's casseroles and the men get to play basketball and watch sports. women have to wear pretty dresses while a man can do fine in the drabbest of cloths. lol

well it is off to work for this little feminist... hope you all have a very blessed Sunday and a restful day in the Lord. above me I see that Amadeus2 has thunder and lighting. I pray for his safety... In the right conditions I love love love me a good thunderstorm but I think his is a little extreme. :)

You are an interesting person...no doubt; and your description of college was a little shocking to little ole sheltered me. I have a "reformed" Christian worldview...and feel very weird, even amongst Christians. I try to stick to the word to tell me what is morally right and wrong (not politicians or even some churches these days)...it does not mean I can live it perfectly...the longer I live the more, the more imperfections I see myself (Before God). So is everyone else tho (imperfect)...we have all sinned and fallen short of His glory.

Now, I see myself as a mix of John the Baptist, Florence Nightengale, and Annie Oakley. I always wanted a horse, not a husband or kids...got to have them all as it turned out. ;)
Now the first thing on my mind is Jesus, but there are very few who want to talk about Him.

Well...no body asks me anything...about me...they are always talking about themselves, then walk away...it is fairly easy...I can see why you would not want to "investigated"...

When I did have a serious problem and asked for prayer from some ladies...they told the church ladies and it spread all over...sooooooo, I learned, keep my mouth shut and pray alone.

You are out there where people can see and talk to you...I just mostly stay at home.
If I am with Gracie, I talk about dogs to the dog lovers.

Well after a few days of lots of this and that, I finally made it back. Hopefully, I am not in the process of forgetting what and where this is. :)

Greetings to old and new friends and acquaintances here! Too many posts since my last visit to read them all. Sorry!

Rain has the most regular thing this past week. It has rained every night except one and that miss was made up by a substantial rainfall the following afternoon.

I am not really complaining, but I would like for the city to complete repairs on our intersection. It continues to be a muddy mess. Some mornings a couple of workers will come out and pump out the excess water so it will dry up faster. Unfortunately, that doesn't do a lot of good when it rains again before it is dry enough for them to work.

Well give God the glory anyway!

sorry that happened to you in church.... I ended up in a group of people I didn't want to be friends with.. apparently I was supposed to date someone's brother and did not... then I made friends with a girl and this guy she liked started talking to me... there were a few people I stayed in touch with for a while but only until my email address changed. :)

Amadeus2, I can understand your frustration. Send that rain down our way here in Southwest Oklahoma.

Ladies, I've been thinking about acquaintances who ask questions or make suggestions of a highly personal nature. I really don't know what to think about that because I'm not in the habit of having conversations like that except with close personal friends or family members. I don't know how I would handle it, but it might be viewed as rude. In other words, it might not be a "Hallmark" moment. ;)

I think this is how life should be...but maybe it is the old fashioned way...anyway, some people just get too "familiar" so to speak, before a real relation is established.

Tom, I think it is a female thing... I know very few men who do that... In fact I cannot think of any off hand. I don't like it because I don't like answering the questions... I know it is why I shy away from making friends.... so, you think you would shut them down??? Make them stop asking? as a man, think about how you would (or should say it)... I'm asking because I'd like to try responding to people the way a man might.
