"The Hope For Democracy Has Failed"

Where does American and Western World relations now stand, with the blatant communist dictatorship in China?

After ruthlessly purging all opposition and centralizing power, Chinese President Xi Jinping risks a lot if he ever steps down himself.

In the end, dissent was negligible, just as Xi Jinping likes it. Sunday’s vote to remove term limits from the Chinese presidency, thus allowing the incumbent Xi to rule beyond his erst while 2023 retirement date — and possibly for life — was passed by 2,958 votes in favor, with just two against and three abstentions.

As if China were a democracy before term limits (or as if term limits were a neccessary part of democracies)...
China has taken many steps in the past 20 years at opening freedoms up for its citizens.

Not A true Democracy, but many free markets internally were developed, travel, communications, de-centralizing government.

The shift sees the laws of decentralizing repealed, with term limits removed, the red dragon has openly raised its head once again.

The two bravest people on earth are those that dissented in their vote.

I believe China is in for much worse abuse as far as human rights are concerned, as the dictatorship will increase removing the opposition that has grown over the past 20 years.

The hope for democracy has failed.

The Chinese government has long since abandoned anything even close to resembling Marxism, much less Maoism, and just morphed into generic authoritarianism.

Wikipedia: Dictatorship is a form of government in which a country or a group of countries is ruled by a single party or individual (a dictator) or by a polity and power is exercised through various mechanisms to ensure that the entity's power remains strong.

Wikipedia: Communist Party Of China

The CPC is, officially, organized on the basis of democratic centralism, a principle conceived by Russian Marxist theoretician Vladimir Lenin which entails democratic and open discussion on policy on the condition of unity in upholding the agreed upon policies. The highest body of the CPC is the National Congress, convened every fifth year. When the National Congress is not in session, the Central Committee is the highest body, but since the body meets normally only once a year most duties and responsibilities are vested in the Politburo and its Standing Committee. The party's leader holds the offices of General Secretary (responsible for civilian party duties), Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) (responsible for military affairs) and State President (a largely ceremonial position). Through these posts the party leader is the country's paramount leader. The current paramount leader is Xi Jinping who was elected at the 19th National Congress held in October 2017.

The CPC is still committed to communism and continues to participate in the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties each year. According to the party constitution, the CPC adheres to Marxism–Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, socialism with Chinese characteristics, Deng Xiaoping Theory, Three Represents, the Scientific Outlook on Development and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a New Era.

I think he was taking issue with the "communist" part - they're just a dictatorship these days, not really communist anymore.

You seem to trust the Chinese government and take their propaganda at face value, odd.

Please point to any economic policy in China that wouldn’t make Lenin physically ill.

Lenin would be saluting a shot of Vodka with the red dragon right now.

The hammer has been slammed and the sickle swung in a harsh immediate return to the communist centralized government. The dictator is cleaning house on the opposition as we speak.

Centralized Government, Lenin's Model!

Do you even know what communism is? Top Tip: Look at China and then imagine the opposite.

Missing from this post that I pondered weak and weary: any mention of economics.

The tortoise has gone back into his shell in fear of repriasal. The milk of democracy has gone off in China. The Chinese Windows XP Clone has found it's blue screen of death. The ants are being burned alive by a child with a magnifying glass, and he is Xi.
