There's this old saying that goes something like, a nation divided against itself can not stand.

I'd submit that partisan bias examples just that. A cleave in twain of the very fabric of America. The "right" vs. The "left". When in D.C. each party's power brokers benefit greatly from the rift. And they revel in the fact they rule America. While American's believe Government works for them.

The OP asks, so what is it with tolerance and the left?

How tragic! How simple it makes this issue seem.

When it's the extreme-far right that set it all off.

Personal opinion is a right. So is speaking it in public.

What is the topic worthy of objection to what is said is when it can be proven Mr.Cathy's actions speak louder than just his words.

Working, giving millions of dollars to organizations through a tax exempt charitable branch of Chick-Fil-A, "WinShape" , so as to take that opinion into the realm of legislation with the intent of either drafting a Constitutional amendment making Gay's unequal to straights, or seeking to pass laws throughout the States that precludes Gay Americans from the equal right protections afforded straights, so as to make freedom the exclusive domain of heterosexuals, is an example of the intolerance of the ultra-right wing.

That's worthy of exercising the right to freedom of speech that calls it wrong! Immoral and worthy of being fought against as ardently as proponents seek to make Gay inequality a standard by law in America. To say by law that freedom is something reserved to straight Americans only!

And what about the Muslims? The OP asks.

Well, let's look at that shall we? Our American Constitution was cited and upheld a challenge to the democratic process that took place recently in Oklahoma. There voters elected to say Islamic Sharia law was not to be permitted special right of jurisdiction within the Muslim community, to which it only applies.

Freedom of religion, freedom from religion. Right?

Wrong!

A Muslim activist challenged the peoples majority decision. And appealed all the way to the Federal District Court in Colorado.
And there it was decided the First amendment freedom of religion guaranteed the inalienable right for Sharia to be practiced by Muslims in Oklahoma!

Sharia is that extremists outlet. It's that "law" under God that allows Muslim women to be killed, their genitals mutilated, their persons to be covered so much so that only one eye peeks out from behind the veil. That moral law of the Muslim God that permits husbands to beat their wives. And if you're really curious and venture to You Tube you'll find a few Imam's (prayer leaders) who direct exactly how beating one's wife is to be rightly accomplished according to the Koran. I.e. God's word.

Business Insider has a video that a corporate executive, Adam Smith (now unemployed), posted on Youtube where he drives thru the Chick-fil-A to get his free water and proceeds to berate the young lady who gives him the water. Nearly all of the comments ant the bottom ogf the page have been deleted for offensiveness.

I guess he was merely expressing intolerance of intolerance.

Earlier, I was listening to the broadcast of a radio station in the NYC area (on the web)... they spoke to at least one restaurant manager, and had people calling in from other restaurants in the metropolitan area and the reports were basically all the same... no protesters.
