Chicken Soup for the Soul books

I agree that they got old REAL quick!! I do have a few of them... Chicken Soup for the Soul (the original one) as well as Chicken Soup for the Couples Soul and Chicken Soup for the Brides Soul. But that's it, and I don't think I've even really touched the last two that I have...

I love the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul. I can relate to alot of the stories however I do agree with Nikoel the stories do seem to get a little repetive and get kinda old very quick but I still enjoy them.

I have for the teenage soul, and pet lovers soul. I don't think I have read through them all the way though. i am not a big fan of short stories.

I have "Chicken Soup for the College Soul." I haven't read it yet. Are they good books to snuggle down in a comfy blankie and read on a weekend? If so, I know what I'm doing tomorrow (Saturday).

I like them because most of them are short stories that I can read one or two if I only have a few minutes to sit down and read. And I like using them as examples and things when I give sermons.

But a lot of them make me cry...so I can't sit and just read a lot of the stories at once. Though I do like in the Christian Soul book the humor section with like the things kids say in church or the bulletin bloopers. Those are always hilarious.

I only have a few...Christian Soul, Christian Family Soul, and Couples Soul (which I wish I could get rid of now that I'm not in a couple )....but I'm waiting for the next Christian Soul one to come out.

They're heartwarming stories, but frankly, I could find just as heartwarming stories all the more emotionally effective because of better writing. I apologize; I am very anal about a polished writing style.

Awhile ago I read Chicken Soup for the Single Parent's soul I loved thisone because I am single parent.
