I've been searching up and down for a chatbox for my geocities.com site... but i haven't been able to get it right! So I come here for help... i need HTML code for a really cool chatbox

Real time chat (like the front page of CF) or a shout box that has a slower refresh, but longer history ?

No such thing as an HTML chat box. Look for something like a java applet or php program. An applet will be slow.

Well, then one like we have on CF. But my resources are little, so I cant actually set up a server for the chatbox. Have any ideas?

Get a java applet and connect to an IRC server.

What do you mean you can't set up a server for the chatbox? You must have somewhere to put the application. (do you have a host?) The CF chatbox is in php, but it's inter-tangled with vbulletin. An applet would be very easy to deal with, but really slow.


You can look at http://www.phpfreechat.net/ It's in php and utilizes AJAX. You'll have a better experience with something like this rather than an applet. An applet will be safer.
