Change

I am 21. A senior in college. It's time to figure out where I want to go, what I want to do. So... I've been praying. And as I've been praying, I've been reflecting on this year. It's over halfway over already. That's a strange though, considering I usually measure years by the school year, and that hasn't started yet.

This year has had so many changes. More changes than any since I graduated high school. Probably more changes even than the year we lost so many of our family members.

I lost several of my friends early on, and then I turned 21. I took over my finances from my parents and rearranged my roommate situation. I taught in a school for the first time. I lost 25 lbs. I came back to the forums. I moved away from home, got a new job, and got my first house. I have yet to move into that house, but when I do, there will be 10 of us living there. When I put it in words, it is small changes, but I don't deal well with change so it's a big big adjustment for me.

Reflecting on where to go next, I started thinking, there are a lot of people here who have had lots of changes this year too. And then I got curious. What changes have you all dealt with this year?

I live in Australia, I applied for the Police force in October last year and passed the written/medical/physical tests with flying colours.

Receive a letter in the mail just a week ago saying my Psychological state has been deemed unfit for Police training....get this "no other comments available"
After the Fitness test we had to do a Psych test which had 100 yes or no answers and questions that were like this-
"do you want to kill yourself?"
"have you ever thought of killing someone" etc..

Ironically a day later in the newspaper they said they will be cutting public service jobs, police included...

Yep...I waited so long to be pretty much lied to.

Great topic! Hope your adjustments are going well.

I am on the brink of getting my real estate license. Something I didn't even think about doing until last year (and I am 28). I've just been a hard working man all my adult life, so getting into a real "career" is all new territory for me. But I'm excited about it.
