Hi

I am surrounded everyday by people who I feel are not positive influences on my life. I have distanced myself from religion for the four years I was in college. I graduated this year and feel that I am missing something in my life, I want to dedicate my life to Christ and need help. I recently moved to another country to pursue my career and I have no outlets. I am looking for anybody who is willing to help me build my relationship with God and show me the straight and narrow. I am genuine and will appreciate any help.

Find a good church, first of all. Find one that teaches the Bible and doesn't hold anything else to be equivalent or superior to the Bible. Find one where the people are friendly and take care of each other.

The first thing I would do is literally pray and ask Jesus back into my heart. Say Lord, I'm sorry that I have been away from you for awhile, but now I want you back into my heart and to be the Lord of my life again.

Jesus has his arms opened to us all the time - hoping we will come back to him if we have been away for awhile.

Then I would start reading the Bible again, pray and listen to things that will edify you spiritually. I suggest that you stay away from worldly junk t.v. and things that are ungodly - they just bring a person down. Then find a bible believing church who takes God seriously; not a feel good, socialite or prosperity type church who never preaches out of the bible or mention Christ. These churches do not have the doctrine that was once given to the saints. Its a life long process and lifestyle.

I bring this book up a lot to college students - its called the University of Destruction by Wheaton. Why? Because there are those who have been a christian throughout their childhood life - go to college and then lose their faith. The public colleges tend to be on the humanist secular side with God not being mentioned at all and a secular professor who may make fun of God. It can be a defiant and hostile environment for a christian. This book helps one how to combat the worldly and hostile environment and be a witness for Christ in the midst of it.

What country did you move to?

You say you have no outlets, therefore, you are in a foreign country, is that correct?

First of all I would like to say thank you for the responses. I am currently in Italy so the language barrier is hard as far as attending churches goes. I have a collegue of mine who is a morman and he is my only way of helping with strengthening my belief and educating me on religion. I am not sure what they belive compared to Christians but he is a great individual.

I am sorry, but I must inform you that Mormonism is a false religion, in regards to Christianity. Their belief system is totally different to Christian beliefs.

Yes, they are nice people, and so are many other people of different religions.

But, Mormonism and Christianity do not mix.

We can talk about it, if you PM me. And I would gladly talk to about our Lord Jesus Christ.
