What are the stakes of the debate such that laypeople should be so concerned about a change in taxonomy?

I've asked AV that question several times and never gotten an answer.
Isn't it a numeralogical thing where the number 9 is used to describe the stars or sky in the Bible somewhere?
(I don't have a link, but I remember that it was linked to a Bible interpretation somewhere... I believe that AV acknowledged that if another gas giant or rocky planet was discovered further out he would accept that Pluto was not a planet.)
In another thread, someone made this comment:
If this is your sentiment as well, were you wrong about Pluto being our ninth planet?
In the case of Pluto, it was a rigged vote that made the determination.Pluto discovered
It's not a question of being wrong or right but what men determine as a planet then and what they determine now.
In the case of Pluto, it was a rigged vote that made the determination.
But they can affect their integrity, can't they?So what? They have no power over Pluto. They can't affect Pluto in any way.
Rigging a vote to get the biblical cannon agreed? But they can affect their integrity, can't they?
And if they rig a vote to get Pluto demoted, what's next?
Good heavens! They might change the name of something else! But they can affect their integrity, can't they?
And if they rig a vote to get Pluto demoted, what's next?
Like "child" to "fetus"?Good heavens! They might change the name of something else!
Like "child" to "fetus"?
Not hardly. No, it was the other way around. "Fetus" came first.
.. and for me, that question highlights the sum total of @AV1611VET's issue on this seemingly never-ending, (thanks to him), topic... Why doesn't anyone keep harping on about it?
