What are the stakes of the debate such that laypeople should be so concerned about a change in taxonomy?

I've asked AV that question several times and never gotten an answer.

Isn't it a numeralogical thing where the number 9 is used to describe the stars or sky in the Bible somewhere?

(I don't have a link, but I remember that it was linked to a Bible interpretation somewhere... I believe that AV acknowledged that if another gas giant or rocky planet was discovered further out he would accept that Pluto was not a planet.)

Anything noted about heavenly bodies in the bible would be a matter of what is visible to the naked eye, which Pluto is not.

@AV will no doubt answer, (yet again), however, his issue, as stated by him previously looks to be a political one. He is unsatisfied with the way the decision was made. Looks to me as though he has a fixed belief that when a democratic vote is taken, the minority group still has to have a say in the outcome .. even when that minority view is completely the opposite of what the final majority consensus agreement is(?)
He seems to prefer stopping any progress whatsoever in furthering the research rather than 'working' the post vote status quo(?)

In another thread, someone made this comment:
If this is your sentiment as well, were you wrong about Pluto being our ninth planet?

Pluto discovered
It's not a question of being wrong or right but what men determine as a planet then and what they determine now.

In the case of Pluto, it was a rigged vote that made the determination.

So your beef is with cosmologists and astronomers.

Not cosmetologists as I almost wrote.

So what? They have no power over Pluto. They can't affect Pluto in any way.
But they can affect their integrity, can't they?

And if they rig a vote to get Pluto demoted, what's next?

Rigging a vote to get the biblical cannon agreed?

Oh wait, that already happened. Why doesn't anyone keep harping on about it?

Good heavens! They might change the name of something else!

They call my baby Patty (because the vote was rigged)
But her real name is Linda Lou.

.. Why doesn't anyone keep harping on about it?
.. and for me, that question highlights the sum total of @AV1611VET's issue on this seemingly never-ending, (thanks to him), topic.

If there's enough concern about the adopted objective definition of 'planet', then it can be undone via the same process which changed it, but the counter-argument will also have to face up to reasoned scruntiny.
It will obviously fall flat on its face, if it follows @AV1611VET's approach of mere childish repetitive whinging and web trolling.
