CF Software Upgrade this weekend and next week...

Bless Erwin's dear precious heart! He is such a dear and I am very grateful for his hard work. To think that he would do this for a bunch of argumentive sometimes ungrateful kids we can be is so much like God that it isn't funny. I sure do appreciate his heart and his kindness to all of us across in all forums. I am sure glad that GOD gave him this desire and not me. I would have quit it many times and instead he upgrades to give us even better. What a man of GOD! Thank you Erwin

As for CF withdrawals, I admit I'll have a tiny one, as I'll be too busy this weekend anyways.

It is anticipated that about midnight Sunday night GMT CF will go offline to upgrade its base forum software.

As our database is massive, this upgrade may take a while - I anticipate at least a 12 hour downtime - I'm not sure though.

Once the forum software is upgraded, ALL our special features (Armor, Character, Arcade etc) will be OFFLINE. I will need to recode all the CF special features for this new major version of the CF software. This recoding will take the better part of next week, and may even take longer.

This upgrade has been in the works for a while, but I wanted the new version of the software to be more stable first.

Thanks for all your patience. With this upgrade should come a better CF interface. CF will also have a new look as well.

Anyway I know after the upgrade CF will be even better

However, that is not to say that people can't get together and create their own chat rooms...be it on IRC if you know anything about it, or have a group chat in AIM or MSN Messenger. Of course, that might take a bit of planning as someone would have to get people's names together and invite them in and stuff during the downtime.
