Okay now I'm all confused about the time again. I'm on the East Coast U.S. - so am I looking at CF going down at 7:00 p.m. Saturday night or Sunday night? :scratch:

And yes, prayers going out to Erwin. :prayer:

Sunday GMT is (for those of you who want to know where Greenwich is, it's in Great Britain) 12am (midnight) Sunday. 7pm US EST, 6pm CST, 5pm MST, 4pm PST.

If you want to be even more confused,

, here's a link to the "Greenwich Mean Time' website where you can actually go ahead and check all the time zones, and countries, that use the GMT to set their clocks.

So 7pm US EST Saturday night then. GMT is, in other words, 5 hours ahead of me on the east coast. Hope I got that right... all this time zone stuff makes me feel like such a dolt. :doh:

Don't fret about it. I have a whole bunch of friends who get confused about the whole thing too. I'm just strange in that way that I like to figure out what time everyone else in the world is in.

If I'm understanding it right, US EST means 7:00 Saturday evening.

GMT would be 5 hours ahead of us, making 7:00 p.m. Saturday for us midnight Sunday for Erwin.

I think that's what it means.

... I had it backwards for a while too ... not only that I thought it meant midnight sunday night ^_^

Anyway, for us in the USA/Canada it means Sunday afternoon/evening and a little bit Monday morning. Then CF Characters etc will be offline for a few days after that. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me.

In order to find out when midnight is, you must look beyond the midnight and understand that there is no such thing as midnight.

If I remember right, the chat room last time was actually to our IRC chat room which ran on a totally separate server from the CF servers. So...it could still run while CF was having downtime.

Unfortunately the person who was hosting the server we were running the channel on had to give up the server. So, there won't be anything official like that.

However, that is not to say that people can't get together and create their own chat rooms...be it on IRC if you know anything about it, or have a group chat in AIM or MSN Messenger. Of course, that might take a bit of planning as someone would have to get people's names together and invite them in and stuff during the downtime.

Midnight is technically AM. So, it would be 12am (midnight) Sunday.
