We removed it because I kept winning it every year. We didn't feel it was fair to the less-attractive posters.

Hahah...believe me in not saying I should win it either. But I would vote for you...and I agree with you being the funniest...

I think my idea is not the same topic as this one, but this message made me think about it. In Japan we always have many countdowns about the best thing in the year at New Years time. I think it is a little bit late, but I think it can be fun to do like that. Especially since these award is in February, then we can do this one now. I think it is a fun way to remember about the different things that happened in the last year.

Nominations aren't a bad idea. Narrow each category down to the top 5 voted for and then have 1 giant final vote. This time around can we actually find out how many votes the top 3 winners got?

I just like voting I think ;)

Oh, and I said at the last one that we should have completely new categories each round if we are going to have them so close together. I'm sticking with that idea.

I like it.
Category rotations are good in such frequent events, otherwise it's the same old same old all the time.
But that's because I get bored of seeing the same categories. I like the idea of mixing it up.

I'll think about the nominations idea, I (and you all) have this month to throw ideas around. While I'm not throwing the idea out, I'm hesitant about doing it for this reason: Around 40 people vote each time, and some of those 40 people dont vote in every category. I'm hestitant because I'd have to get two sets of votes from everyone, and then theres a chance of a tie. We'll see though. :)

Also, sorry, but I'm not going over 30 categories this time around. It was hard keeping up with the categories last time and I felt like they got out of hand.

Also everyone has to remember it's up to the voters to have someone win. If you dont want the same person to win the same category each time - vote differently. A lot of you who said you wanted to see someone different win voted for who you thought fit the category - which was usually the same person who won last time. If they fit the category, they just do. I cant change how you all vote (and wouldnt.) but if you wanna see someone different win, then scope out the recent poster list and especially at the newbies and find someone different. :)

Not everyone wins 1st place, but a large majority of CFers are in the award places (2nd, 3rd, 4th).

With the limit of 30, how about y'all make some lists of what categories you'd like to see?

Also for the record - The list of names in the OP is not nominations of any kind. It's just a list of people who go to the singles area on a regular basis and mostly is there just so everyone can have a gist on who is available to vote for (if they cant think of anyone for category)

What if you were to receive a small fee just for ensuring that common sense prevails and the wonderful hair of r035198x is properly recognized?

I've never seen said hair that you speak of. You could be hairless for all I know. So I dont know if I want to take that risk :p

For me it's not that I get bored of seeing the same names win (and deliberately changing my vote to reflect that does not sit well with me) it's that I just get fed up of the same categories ;).

It's like how I get fed up with the rat shows always having categories such as prettiest doe, handsomest buck, most likely to be ratnapped ... they're fun, I love them, but somtimes I wish they'd just switch it up a little bit. You know, one show having prettiest/handsomest buck, the next cheekiest/most laid back. It's just my nature.

Plus, in my case, you have to remember I was all for pushing it to once a year. Of course i'm going to sit here pushing for category changes, it'll help me feel less repetitive :p.

I personally don't mind as much when the same person wins the same category several times, especially when they really do deserve it (like for instance, Kevin with the Best Flirter award haha! :p). But what bothers me more is the potential of only a small group of about 5-10 very well-known posters winning all the categories. If the same 10 people win everything every time around, then that would get very boring, in my opinion. I don't want that to start happening.

Since you want to limit the number of categories to 30 this time, how about bringing the limit of the number of votes for the same person down to 3 instead of the usual 5 (because there's fewer categories now)? Maybe that'll help give more variety? :)

Idea - Make some of the categories shared between male and female, for example best hair

Oh this is a great idea! The same thing could also be done with categories like Best Eyes and Best Smile! :D

Oooo, I like it.
If i'm still around maybe i'll force myself to use a person once and once only, and then find someone else who fits the other categories. Even if it will involve serious post stalking.

I tried to do that the last time around. It was very difficult and I honestly couldn't do it without any repeats haha! ^_^ However, I did manage to make only a very few repeats and I didn't vote for any one person more than 3 times. And I honestly felt that each person I voted for fit their category. So for anyone who thinks it's impossible to vote for a variety of people...not true! :p

3 per person sounds fine with me, since you're right there will be 30 categories.

Also switching up the categories is fine with me.

Anyone wanna make up a list of 30 categories to let me know what they'd like to see? Categories from last time is in the OP. Scope it out.

I concur with this. Do a nomination round, then pick the top whatever number and have a final vote.

If badges/awards are too much work, I'm sure people wouldn't mind. The title seems like enough of a prize to me.

I keep repeating myself but I still say that we have a ton of creative folks on CF, assign three awards to a handful of those creative posters to create and the awards will be painless and easy.

I like it.

Yeah, every three months is too close if most of the categories are the same. It already feels boring.

LOVE this idea

I still say you should only be allowed to vote for one person in one category. We have so many newbies but just as many beloved "old" posters that you almost need to force people to spread the love in voting situations like this.
